What has become of JJ??

Update below...

From the concerned emails and phone calls I have received, it's quite obvious that I'm not the only one who hasn't forgotten about the plight of poor JJ. However, the silence from camp UKPR has been deafening regarding how she is faring.

What are they hiding or ashamed of?

We all witnessed the sad and sorry state she was in last time she appeared on the pitiful video that was swiftly removed after peoples horrified reactions to it.

For all anyone knows she has been shipped out to who-knows-where and is not even still with Adele?

A couple of weeks ago I contacted Adele, by PM on the Parrot-Link forum, to enquire after JJ, as she has done in the past to ask about Mylo. Unfortunately, my message was met with stony silence.

Apparently, I'm not the only one whose concern has fallen on deaf ears. A member of their own forum, 'Dawnie' also posed the question on the boards and was completely ignored. I expect that none of the other members dare to step out of line and mention this, lest they incur the wrath of Vikky and get banned or ostracised from their little group.

I know for a fact, from testimonial evidence, that Macaws have long memories and that JJ and Mylo will not have forgotten one another. These two poor birds were wrenched apart after many years close companionship, through no fault or choice of their own and now have to suffer the loss of one another through senseless and selfish human pride and nothing more.

Mylo continues to have a good life here and I have nothing to hide regarding his happiness, health or welfare. Doesn't JJ deserve that same consideration?

It was perhaps even more astonishing to see a recent post made on the UKPR forum by Adele, proudly showing off her own two Blue and Gold Macaws, Armani and Indi, in their new double cage... Which just happens to be the very same cage that was donated by a well wisher for JJ and Mylo to have as their home...

No mention however, of poor JJ who, one is only to assume, has been relegated to the original tiny cage she shared with Mylo or one of Adele's old Macaw cages.

See here and here

Perhaps even more staggering was the following comment made by Adele whilst posting on the subject of her two birds in their lovely new spacious cage. Adele's comment

Well... "separate two macaws" is certainly what she did wasn't it?!!!

Do these people have no shame or compassion whatsoever???

Update

It seems that certain quarters are keeping a close eye on this blog as no sooner had I posted the above article when, as if by magic, a thread posted by Adele reporting on JJ appeared on the UKPR forum today!

Adele's report on JJ

We are certainly very pleased to hear that JJ is reported to be doing better recently. However, how tragic is it, that it was thought necessary to put her through all this trauma and unhappiness, even to the extent of medicating her, simply for the sake of human pride and reluctance to admit that a mistake had been made but would be swiftly rectified for the sake of the birds?

On a separate note... Mylo continues to thrive here and enjoy the free range, cageless life he was always accustomed to. With the warmer weather now here, he is spending plenty of time in the garden with his Macaw companions, feeling the fresh air and sun on his feathers.

Battery Hen Appeal

I know that a lot of the people reading this blog share concern for all animal welfare, not only that of the parrot-like. This appeal appeared on the Parrot-Link forum today and I thought I would repost it here for anyone interested in offering some of these poor little girls a home.

Quote...

Just had an email through that 10,000 hens need re-homing from a battery farm in Norfolk which is closing down. If anyone can offer homes then please contact Little Red Hen Rescue. Also found this link on google: Sky News

Any not rehomed by the 28th June will be slaughtered.

Adele and the abuse of JJ

For all those people who have criticised the actions of those behind this blog.

The core of this blog has always been about Mylo’s welfare, and re-uniting him with his partner JJ. As you can see from this video “Mylo & Kiki grooming”, Mylo is a very happy contented bird now, 2 weeks after his quarantine period had ended.

He is still parted from JJ though, because UKPR (Adele) refuses to allow her to be re-united with Mylo, even to the point of allowing her to completely pluck herself through the stress and trauma caused by splitting her and Mylo up.

It is known that Mylo had a respiratory condition, yet he was still allowed to go to Adele in clear breach of UKPR’s own rules, because she was a smoker. He arrived here stinking of cigarette smoke.

Adele made this comment today on the UKPR forum: Image

Talking about air fresheners and parrots.

Please read the image and what she has stated because it is amazing how blatant a liar she is.

Watch this video and see if you notice the air freshener: Video 1

This video shows that both videos were recent: Video 2

For anyone who does not know anything about parrot care and husbandry, air fresheners and their chemicals are dangerous hazards to parrots due to their sensitive and delicate respiratory system. Mylo the Military Macaw was with Adele for 6 months and when he arrived here, he was rushed to the vets due to arriving with a serious respiratory condition.

Adele is one of the core UKPR group who is charged with rescuing and protecting parrots, even ones handed to them by the RSPCA like in Mylo & JJ’s case.

If you believe there is a case of animal cruelty here, and care anything about bird welfare, it will take you 5 minutes to lodge a complaint with the RSPCA, and hopefully push them to act. Use this blog as your point of contact with the relevant facts and evidence.

All the relevant information concerning the legal aspect of this case is in the hands of DEFRA and the Police, but it seems the RSPCA refuse to act over the welfare aspect, even though they were the ones who handed Mylo & JJ into the care of Vikky (UKPR) in the beginning. When approached about this case, they said there was not a welfare case at hand, even though they were told there was.

If anyone knows of any legal experts who are bird lovers who would like to look into all the details of this case, please could you send an email.

Someone is accountable for allowing JJ the Macaw to be in the condition she is now in!

Doesn’t she have rights over her welfare, to be protected from human abuse?

The full story based upon the facts is on this blog.

Mylo's bonded partner JJ

Update below video

Here is the removed video from UKPR which shows Mylo's bonded partner JJ. It was removed by Adele, perhaps because it was pointed out to her, how sickening it was to be gloating over such a horrendous video of an obviously traumatised and unhappy JJ.

Animal cruelty comes to mind!

Mylo & JJ had been together for many years, and have now spent over 2 months apart due to UKPR malpractices. As you can see, the psychological damage and stress to this poor bird has caused her to fully pluck herself.

How can UKPR call themselves a rescue, with bird welfare at heart when they allow this type of cruelty to go on in an open forum, and not even see the error of their ways?

Mylo's welfare is not in doubt here.

Image: Adele's feeble excuse

This video was removed by Adele from the UKPR forum after she realised how serious a mistake it was to put such a harrowing video of one of two birds that have been at the centre of a very public exposure of a supposed parrot rescue that she is part of.

If Adele and UKPR are in the right over these two birds as they have professed from the very beginning of this, then there is absolutely no reason why the above video should have been removed. It was first posted on the UKPR forum in the false belief that people would see how well JJ was doing. It fooled some of the UKPR die-hards who rallied around Adele and the video, but anyone with an ounce of intelligence and compassion can see straight through the delusion and see a seriously traumatised bird.

When what has happened to JJ was pointed out on this blog, the video was swiftly removed from view. So in the interest of transparency in this now long standing case, we uploaded it to our youtube page so that people could still see the truth.

Adele has stated that she removed the video from the UKPR forum due to "copyright issues". This blog only linked to her video on UKPR when she posted it and did not infringe any copyright, so this is a blatant fallacy. Once it was removed, we then re-published it here in the interest of truth, and to show people the way this parrot "rescue" treat bird welfare.

Why should people not see this video when Adele was the one who posted it herself in the first place?

Did she realise she made a mistake, and then try and backtrack?

She can complain to Youtube but we still have the copy on file.
