Subtle threats

UKPR are accustomed to 'threatening and intimidating' women into silence, or to get their own way when it comes to the running of their 'cowboy outfit' bird rescue.

Below is a brief exchange between myself and Alan Hird, the Cockatoo breeder who hands rescue birds to Harry Sissens.

No disrespect to Mr Sissens, but you should choose your friends more carefully Harry, unless of course you are heavily involved with UKPR which will become evident in due course.

I am not going to write a long post here because statements from each individual in question will be taken by the relevant authorities. Alan.h and the faithful few on UKPR who must all be up to their necks in it, along with Vikky and Alan are continuing with their deranged UKPR circus show, and he has chosen to reveal HALF of our email exchange from yesterday.

I have nothing to hide so please read between the lines, which Alan.h obviously has trouble doing.

Alan.h is as thick as thieves with Jamie the UKPR driver who was the owner of what is now claimed to be a dead female Eclectus called Cherry. I have been in email contact with the original owner and have stated that a full and frank apology will be given once she has the original PM in her possession. Until then there are still unanswered questions and Cherry deserves us asking them, especially because she has become an integral part of our dealings with UKPR. We did see the poor little bird after she had been seized from her previous carer in Jamie's home after all.

Cherry was seized from a lone woman by 2 car loads of people, Jamie, Vikky's partner Scott, and several others, so we know their style!

We have also had information from people stating that there are a few Eclectus being passed around the country (for breeding, perhaps?) So this begs the question; how many more rescue birds have gone under the radar of UKPR members and are now in a breeding situation, and is Cherry really dead or paired up now with a male Eclectus as was Jamie's original plan.

It is a known fact that everyone behind this rescue are bird breeders after all so it doesnt take much imagination to work things out does it?

There are other cases of threats of violence conducted by UKPR that have also come to light in the process of writing to this blog, and there have been cases of people being intimidated into silence by UKPR calling up their places of work in an attempt to get them fired.

All of this information is on top of Jamie the UKPR driver's, actions that earned him a harrassment warning from the police.

A pack of of bullies who prey on women and people weaker than themselves, to enforce their business practices, whilst all along the birds in their care are being abused for their own selfish reasons.

You think we would sit back and send Mylo back into their clutches?? Think again people and that's why this blog has come as far as it has.

All it takes is one phone call Alan, and then you are in serious trouble. That is not a threat, it is a statement of fact.

I do not expect to be out, or not around, and thinking that you could arrive on Caron's door step trying to intimidate her, just like Jamie tried to, and your comment on UKPR's forum constitues a threat because it has left those thoughts in my mind.

So lets make things perfectly clear here!

The sooner the police shut you down and investigate you the better!

Rescue birds and innocent people should be protected from the likes of you, and coming in at this late stage, I can only imagine what type of torment you have put others through with your lies and twisting of the truth, amongst your faithful few.

You all disgust me, after watching your speil on the UKPR forum, and its amazing that people have been dragged into your world, believing the reality around yourselves that you help eachother create.

I just wonder how deep in the s**t each of the faithful few are, and that includes those two-faced people who currently have UKPR birds in their care.

.....................................................

Alan.h's subtle threat: I cant find that rob, she`s obviously embarrassed herself and has deleted it or maybe one of the PL mods has done the decent thing and removed it

throughout all this she has used the word fact countless times but failed to provide any.

the only fact she has proven is

CARON IS INDEED SICK

sorry everyone 'Blush' i just needed to get that off my chest

i have only met Caron once but i`m looking forward to the day when we meet again, as it will be the day that i collect Mylo.

Alan.h's comment on UKPR: Poor Kayley STILL hasnt received an apology and it seems they are taking things to yet another new low, they now claim that poor cherry`s PM results are forged, i suppose it was expected they would come out with more assumptions and accusations, its all there intelligence allows them to do, we place yet more documented FACTS on their laps and they close their eyes to the truth, such is their mentality (documented facts? A piece of paper with no date or name on it from a group of well known and connected bird breeders. hhmm, I wonder if she is not dead, whether what you have done is a criminal offence? Kayley and her family will recieve a full apology when she has the original PM)

i also had a Private message from paul on another forum, in response to my comment on here which was i am really really looking forward to the day when i can collect mylo and reunite him and jj

apparently Paul is taking this as a threat but read the last line of his pm and then decide for yourself which one the threat is, i have also sent copies to the relevant people, and if i continue to receive them i will make them public on here

Alan,

I have read several of your comments recently and I do not appreciate your subtle threats aimed at Caron about you turning up at her house, as you seek to make yourself look like a 'big man' amongst your little group by attempting to intimidate a woman.

I can assure you, that you will not be setting foot on Carons property as you keep stating, just like i assured Jamie he would not be taking Mylo when he started issuing threats.

If you cross the line one more time you will face the consequences of your actions.

Paul

my reply

i dont use threats Paul but it appears you do

thanks for that

Alan twisting the truth to sound like he is smelling of roses.

Statement 1. i have only met Caron once but i`m looking forward to the day when we meet again, as it will be the day that i collect Mylo.

Statement 2. i am really really looking forward to the day when i can collect mylo and reunite him and jj

Notice the difference in context?

Look at the people we are dealing with here, and these are the people who have set themselves up as a bird rescue and are having needy birds placed into their care, even ones from the RSPCA.

Alan.h: Subtle threat
Paul: Not a threat email 1

Cherry the Eclectus – Gone to Rainbow bridge

Update: Postscript below post

Is this a coincidence?
All followers of this blog will have been greeted with a picture of a female Eclectus each time you arrived here because as the saga unfolded that led to this blog being started, it was brought to our attention that there was a female Ekkie called Cherry who had been seized in similar circumstances to the attempted seizure of Mylo.

UKPR have their side of the story to Cherry’s seizure along with photographic ‘evidence’ for their reasons behind it, which we have seen. This as far as we are concerned based upon all of the factors involved concerning the seizure and where the birds went is fatally flawed and proves the disgusting attitude of UKPR, and their abuse of birds and people.

Is this poor bird really dead or has it been hidden now UKPR know the police are involved? (Read the evidence below and judge that for yourself)

Jamie the UKPR driver/’heavy’ was one of the group of people who seized Cherry from where she was living, and then became her proud new owner.

We met Cherry in situ at Jamie’s home, and then, when the situation with Mylo unfolded we were then ‘coincidentally’ given all of the background information about her seizure without anyone knowing we had just seen her with our own eyes.

During our introduction to Cherry at Jamie's home, no mention was made of any illness whatsover and beyond the obvious plucking she appeared in decent health. In fact, as already stated, Jamie was enthusiastic about his plans to introduce a partner for her.

Her story is another story to share that has been central to our exposure of UKPR practices and is the reason why a picture of a female Eclectus has been up since the beginning. UKPR have intimidated her previous carer into silence with the photos mentioned, ones that can be explained away.

How many bird keepers do not at some point have dirty cages and bowls?

We have offered to tell Cherry’s previous carer’s story but it has been declined so I will not go into it now.

It just seems very coincidental that now that the police are involved… Cherry is “dead”.

How long after her death was her initial owner who had her micro-chipped, notified of this sudden turn of events?... Four days??? Think about it, why four days???

Are there any independent parties who have seen her body?

Have UKPR organised a post mortem examination? Image - Alan (no answer on forum as yet)

Why, as a UKPR rescue bird, if she was sick from plucking did UKPR not pay for her to see a vet? Would that not be an appropriate use of those ‘donations’?

Has anyone heard of a bird dying from plucking alone?

All very strange!!!

Cherry is dead.
Images: Kayley – Jamie – Alan - Vikky
(How remarkabley fortunate Alan was there when Cherry died)

UKPR Watch: The police are now involved

Make your own mind up based upon the evidence, and when you do remember Jamie was warned about the police at the beginning, and now they are involved Cherry has gone. Gone where is the question; rainbow bridge or into hiding until this all blows over?

There are many more stories of shady dealings at the expense of innocent rescue birds and caring bird lovers.

It seems some people just do not want to believe the truth that is staring everybody in the face.

UKPR bringing the parrot rescue community into disrepute.

.........................

Update: Postscript

We as bird lovers, are all acutely aware that the sad death of a much loved pet is a very emotive subject. For those reading this blog who do not wish to confront this upsetting but none the less, very real issue then we can only say “please feel free to click the little red cross at the top right hand corner”.

For those who are still reading… I would ask that whilst judging whether it is right or wrong to discuss this subject, please remember that the key purpose of these articles and the comments are to raise the questions that before now have been silenced on the UKPR forum by banning orders and deletion of posts.

Within a very short time of posting the ‘Cherry’ article, we have been challenged with the outraged “how dare you” and “how insensitive” comments from Team UKPR. This was totally expected and absolutely true to form… Vikky and her UKPR cronies like to play heavily on the emotions of genuine people who have true care and concern for their feathered charges rather than viewing them as a ‘nice little earner’.

Up until now, the order of the day has been “Shhh, don’t talk about it”. Or perhaps, in Jamie’s very own words on the night we visited his home and he noted the monetary value of my green singing finch in comparison to a ‘mere’ canary… “keep quiet about it”.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t work like that here.

Questions WILL be asked and whether the answers are forthcoming or not will be evident for anyone watching.

If there is nothing to hide then why not answer the questions in an open and honest way as June Edwards of Parrotcare has on each and every occasion she has been publicly ‘interrogated’ by alan.h on the parrot-link forum.

Perhaps as a final thought… I would just like to borrow silent-shout’s previous analogy of turning the tables and ask people to ponder the following scenario.

Just imagine for a moment if I had posted an announcement on this blog stating that (and God forbid) Mylo the Military Macaw had very sadly flown to Rainbow Bridge four days ago…

What questions might have been very rightly posed and answers demanded then???

If our worst suspicions regarding the Cherry situation are wrong then we shall be more than prepared to write an open and sincere apology. I think the majority of people following this blog would agree that under the circumstances the questions posed are extremely valid.

They call themselves a “rescue”

Update at bottom of the post (14/03/09)

An apology:
In writing this post there was no offence intended to be directed at any person involved in the reputable parrot rescue community. It was written to highlight the belief that Mylo, as a hand reared bird who has had human interaction his whole life would be better off in a family environment with a small flock of rescue birds.

There is a place within parrot rescue for small, medium and large scale rescues which cater for the different needs of pet owners and the birds in question.

Our deepest heartfelt apologies to Wayne Watkins if he has felt that this post has undermined or discredited him in any way. This was most definitely in no way whatsoever, our intention. Wayne does an incredible job with his rescue efforts. He has the bird's welfare as his No.1 priority, we have no doubts at all that the care they receive is second to none and he is the person who we have been in contact with day one as our third party concerning Mylo & JJ.

We just feel that now Mylo is happy and settled here and that this is the best place for him where he can have the constant human interaction he has always had and deserves.

A deep heartfelt apology to anyone else who might have been offended with my words over small to medium scale rescues who do an amazing job at their level within this industry.

The welfare and wellbeing of individual birds and where they are placed has got to be paramount in a situation like this, and not dictated by a human because of personal pride.

UKPR Watch

How can any sane minded person believe UKPR are in the right over this case with Mylo & JJ?

What are the legal frameworks in place to protect an ‘animal’s welfare’ from the exploitation of people like Vikky?

Mylo & JJ a pair of rescue Macaws, who were destined for what was deemed to be the best place for them, on an emergency care basis with the view to long term fostering. This means like every other UKPR owned bird, they are always Vikky’s property so she believes that she has the right to do what she wants, and when she wants to do it with them.

No thoughts of the birds immediate or long term welfare comes into it.

These are living, sentient creatures, not someone’s inanimate personal possession, vulnerable creatures at that too. Creatures that have been rescued from a bad environment, and placed into what is believed to be, the care of a responsible person who professes to be a bird rescuer and lover.

These two birds Mylo & JJ were signed into the hands of UKPR by the RSPCA because they believed them to be a rescue organisation that had bird’s interest and welfare their No.1 priority.
Mylo & JJ were then placed into a very questionable environment considering Mylo has a respiratory condition, with a UKPR worker who smokes. Someone who was afraid to handle him because he can be a little boisterous sometimes, who had both birds shut away in a spare bedroom. This owner then needed to rehome them due to being diagnosed with allergic alveolitis which is a serious illness made worse by birds.

The best possible home was found for them with Caron, her family and her small flock.

The owner of the bird which is the person whose signature is on the ownership form (Vikky), had a disagreement with Caron, whose home they were destined for, so decided she did not want her ‘property’ in Caron’s hands.

There was no thought about the rescue birds welfare or well being just that her ‘property’ should not be left in Caron’s possession.

This is not a possession like a TV or a Video for example; this is a living creature that has rights to be protected so that it can live a happy fulfilled life.

Vikky then BLATANTLY LIED for all to see, in an attempt to get her ‘property’ back. She told everyone that the previous emergency carer had called her and told her she wanted to foster them long term. She did not. This was not known to be a lie until later on when the person who was dragged into the lie stepped forward to tell the truth.

So the one who owns the birds blatantly lied because she wanted her ‘property’ back because she had been slighted, and not because the bird’s welfare was at stake.

How can anyone involved with animal welfare say this type of behaviour is acceptable?

Using the welfare of these birds to abuse people, which in turn abuses the birds in question.

Abhorrent behaviour! And they call themselves a rescue!

Considering in this instance, that the future welfare and wellbeing of Mylo was at stake, it was decided that he should not go back into the hands of Vikky because his welfare was not her priority, and considering he was a rescue bird, he had been through enough already, so as caring humans we were going to defend his rights to be protected from being abused at all costs.

This is what we have done over the past two weeks, and in the process we have helped expose these dodgy UKPR practices.

At the beginning of this we felt that because Mylo & JJ were a bonded pair of Macaws getting them reunited was paramount. There was no way Vikky was going to let the other half of her ‘property’ come here, so there was no alternative but to find another home for them both. When this started we had a third party rescue step forward and offer them a home so we made it clear that we were willing to allow Mylo to go so long as he was to be reunited with JJ. Two weeks in with Mylo now settled into Caron’s family home, it has now been decided that our third party is suitable for Vikky and she is willing to sign over ownership of both birds to him so that they can both be together at this rescue.

So Vikky is quite happy to let these two birds go from her possession just so long as they do not go here where they were originally destined before the UKPR boat was rocked.

Where is the welfare and wellbeing of the birds in all of this?

They have become nothing more than ‘property’, pawns in Vikkys game, with her having no real care about what is best for both birds, just so long as Caron does not get them.

You ask yourself the question; what is best for these two ex-RSPCA rescue birds?

To go and live out their lives in a small scale rescue with 60+ birds where the human attention due to the large number of birds already there will inevitably be reduced, or a family home where they are with 14 other birds, which includes 3 Macaws, and where they will be out of their cages pretty much all day, and have constant human attention?

It has been brought to our attention by a bird lover who knows the story behind Mylo & JJ that they lived in a household with 8 birds and with no cages, even going outside with their owner, so this points to the type of environment that is best for their long term welfare.

Maybe its me being biased but the family home has got to be the best place for them both to live out their lives. I don’t know though, you think about that one yourself.

It now looks bad that we are unwilling for Mylo to leave his new home and go and live in this small scale rescue, which is understandable because we had agreed to a third party taking him, but in reality this poor little guy needs us to defend his rights and what is best for him. It is our personal belief that here, where he has settled with other birds and humans is the best place for him so we will fight for his rights against everyone who seeks to harm them.

How can we look at him and just give in?

If the RSPCA do an investigation and they deem that he should go and live in a rescue with 60+ other birds then there will be no alternative but to let him go there. Until then he will not be going anywhere.

Those ‘dead heads’ who choose to ignore the truth and facts can vilify our position over not now letting Mylo go but its meaningless because it just shows you for who you are (Bella). You choose to listen to the words of a “blatant liar” who abuses animals and people to get her own way, and who would do anything to these birds at the complete detriment to their welfare and wellbeing just to win a squabble as this example clearly proves.

Remember the moral of the story of what happens to the bully people!

You call yourselves bird rescuers, you’re a bunch of sad people, charlatans masquerading as bird rescuers, following a liar, and believing yourselves to be important because you are a part of UKPR professing to do good rescuing birds when in reality animal welfare means nothing to you, your all a part of a money making scam.

Says it all really!!!

I feel sorry for those who are not strong enough to jump ship yet for whatever reason, especially you Adele. I’m surprised you haven’t any close friends around you who have talked sense into you yet.

When you think about the question of what you think is best for Mylo & JJ’s future you might like to take a look at Vikky’s own personal opinion of rescues housing large numbers of birds. She states that she is passionate about bird welfare and fails to see how a rescue with many birds can give each individual the “standard of care they deserve”. Yet she's now perfectly happy to send Mylo & JJ into exactly the kind of environment she has openly criticised.

Hypocritical or what?!

Can you see her motives people?

Its definitely not Mylo & JJ’s welfare!!!

Vikky: In her own words

So now ukpr think it is right that two birds that have always been in a home environment and are so obviousy imprinted shoud be placed in an aviary environment.
All this has saddened and sickened me, how an organisation who call themselves a rescue have no feeling for the needs of these two birds.
There is a loving caring home with Caron and Paul which is obvious to a bind man but Vickys ego is bigger than the happiness of these birds.
This home was good enough for ukpr two weeks ago, why not now ? because there has been a petty disagreement and Caron has dared to question Vicky over a cage ! So what is best for the two birds is no longer important, as long as Vicky gets her own way.
This has gone on long enough and if ukpr is willing to legally sign over the birds to another rescue then why not just sign them over to Caron and the Home where Mylo has settled over the last Two weeks.
This should be about what is best for the birds welfare and it needs to stop now.

As has been posted above, Caron you know in your heart what is best and Mylo has settled there, just stand your ground and dont let these bullies put Mylo and JJ through any more upset.

If these people want to take you to court, we will gladly sit at the side of you, we support you all the way

I completely agree with what Dorrie has stated above, it is beyond comprehension WHY these two beautiful creatures should be placed into an aviary?!?

They are imprinted.

We have our very own 'product' here of what happens when a bonded bird is separated from its companion and 'shoved' into an aviary because 'its best he's with other birds' and let me say this, with regards to psittacine behaviour it creates what I believe is the avian equivalent of heartbreak.

It can lead to and even be the root cause of emotional/trauma related behaviour which can never be rectified or modified within an aviary environment, these birds crave our attention, after all we took it upon ourselves to domesticate these animals, bringing them into our homes, altering their innate instincts for what...to then place them into an aviary because we feel like it, so they can be and do what exactly? = Constantly call out to their 'true' flock, develop stereotypical/non stereotypical behaviours, become withdrawn, become a victim to true 'wild' behaviours of other birds and live out the rest of their lives always missing apart of them, alone.

No I don’t think placing two imprinted psittacines into an aviary is in the TRUE interests of their welfare, it is nothing more than a 'quick fix' to a situation which I can honestly say is ridiculous.

The scenario whereby children are used as 'tools' of manipulation in a divorce comes to mind, not on your side Caron, but with ukpr.

For an 'organisation' that addresses themselves as the United Kingdom Parrot Rescue, there is no 'real' unity, only with themselves.

Stay strong

Time to dispel those doubts!

June: Parrotcare’s comment taken from ‘Stealing my finch’ below my post.
If there is any doubt in anyone’s mind over what this blog has been stating about UKPR over the last week then I hope this should dispel it and bring you back to reality and the real world where the rest of us live, and not the UKPR fantasy world that has been created with lie after lie by Vikky, Alan & Co.

All present and ex-UKPR members know that once there is a disagreement with Vikky on the forum, members are instantly banned and that person’s side of events silenced.

This happened to me last Sunday after I took into my care, at the request of Vikky, Mylo the military Macaw who is one half of a bonded pair. I posed a simple series of relevant questions concerning his well being which led to the attempted seizure of him. JJ his partner did not arrive as planned due to the incompetence of the UKPR rescue service charged with transporting the pair.

(Re-uniting them is now my primary concern)

I was then subsequently banned and my name blackened by the UKPR team.

This blog was then set up as my response to that blackening of my name, and to give other ex-UKPR members and fosterers who have been banned and their names blackened the opportunity to give their side of the story.

It was my belief that all that had happned to me could not have been an isolated case due to the catalogue of misdeeds that bordered on criminality and did, indeed, eventually end up in actual criminality with one of the UKPR team receiving a harassment warning.

I was proved right in my belief when stories started to flood in through email of the way other people and rescue birds had been treated by UKPR. Then during the course of the first few days we witnessed the attempted silencing of those brave people willing to stand up to UKPR with threats of violence and intimidation that has become synonymous with UKPR practice and now logged on this blog.

Being banned from the UKPR forum it was thought that it would make it hard to gather the information needed to prove what had been going on. But the moral of this story for those following it is that if you are a liar then nothing you ever say will ever stand up when the truth is eventually brought to bear upon it. Because it is false, unreal, a fantasy world based on lies. So, in the very limited communication Vikky has had with the outside world through her blog and this blog, we have been able to expose her lies at each opportunity that she has spoken - Last night was no different.

I have also had some very nice, genuine, caring people following all that was being said on the UKPR forum, who have kept us up to date and informed on what was happening on there – Thank you!

Last night was the first time that Vikky has decided to appear on this blog to answer her critics here. She appeared on the ‘Stealing my finch’ thread as’ anonymous’ to start off with but was soon found out, and then made no real attempt to hide the fact, to the contrary in fact, as you will see what she said here – image 1

(Anyone who knows anything about computers will know that all IP addresses are logged by the hosting companies to which the police have access once a criminal investigation is instigated)

It has been stated several times throughout this blog by people independently, that UKPR are handling rescue birds and in some cases selling them on. This has obviously been denied, but as you can see from what was said in the heat of the moment last night, UKPR birds are not viewed as anything other than property with a price on their head that should be “paid” for by potential fosterers – image 2

Nice little money making scam at the expense of rescue birds and bird lovers!

This should be the final nail in the coffin for all of those present UKPR members who are contemplating jumping ship, and coming back down to reality and into the real world with the rest of us.

Anyone with the slightest bit of intelligence would have to agree with the point that is about to be made.

Vikky said this: proof please of it just makes the statement slanderous, everything posted within this obvious personal hate campaign is fabrication by its followers as a direct result is being exposed as untrustworthy on the ukpr forum - Image 3

Who is left on the UKPR forum to hear how this blog is “all lies” other than those members who have not been banned yet?

The outside world cannot view Vikky’s expose of our fabrication and lies because everything is said behind closed doors with only those left behind being fed her lies and if you are one of them I would think very hard about this post.

Rather than allowing the professional UKPR forum to be an open place for everyone to come and debate the issues at hand, where if there was nothing to hide, any sensible person would, the forum became a locked house with only those ‘yes’ people allowed in, with those posing awkward questions banned.

Then the poor attempt at a blog was set up instead.

The blog was stated to be a place where Vikky would answer questions, but within 5 minutes everyone was blocked from posting on there just like on her forum, with them having to then post their responses on here instead.

Not very open and honest if there was nothing to hide.

( I would like to point out that this blog has been an open house for everyone to pose questions and share opinions, with only 2 comments deleted due to their irrelevance)

What was written on the UKPR blog was swiftly refuted and the lies exposed for what they were as can be seen throughout the posts on this blog where their words have been used as evidence against them.

One of the people following events and supporting this blog has been June of Parrotcare.

Here is the comment she left this morning that needed to be put on the frontpage along with my article.
...............................................

June Parrotcare

QUOTE;you have taken on over a dozen birds through vikky and ukpr and actually paid nothing;END QUOTE

Vikky and Allen this is NOT a rescue you are trying to run it is a business, STEP ONE, get bird given to you for free, STEP TWO, put a price on the bird (GOD knows how much you charge for a teil)STEP THREE, get one of your "members" to pay you for the privilege of looking after, feeding and loving the bird, STEP FOUR,if you don't like something the "member" has done take back bird and sell again.

Why bother to breed this is a far easier and quicker way to earn money.

If you are able to find a kind and caring person who will run and around and collect the birds at that persons own expense, brilliant MORE PROFIT FOR YOU.
You do not even have to feed or care for it yourself as you have CARE HOMES to look after the bird until it is sold.

And I bet when you are taking a bird off of someone you will not tell them that you are going to sell it.

I bet you must have been gutted that you did not get this little Citron hen that was rushed to me so that you could not scare the owner into giving it to you, and what about the Galah that the owner wants back and you told him you do not know where it is,(I guess you will need to find it by the time that comes to court).

I can tell you now that a group of breeders have documented evidence regarding the things that you and Alan etc have been up to, (they have been collecting this for over a year).and they are really Pi**ed at what you have been up too.

As the S*** hits the fan Vikky I wonder how many of your friends are going to stay around to get spayed with it.

You do not need to run Alan the S*** has already landed on you.

This is not just about Milo and JJ now its about a group of people who started up a money making scam and called it a rescue.

How many poor people have you duped along the way.

Anyone who has birds from Vikky and Alan, you have brought and paid for these birds they are yours, the "agreement" is not worth a button.

How dare you call yourselves a rescue.
when real rescues are working day and night caring for birds and not trying to find ways to make money out of them.

A real rescuer will go without food to see that a bird is fed and care for not work out how much to sell it for.

White Van Man would be proud of you.

How low will they go?

Update: Courtesy of a concerned bird lover

If people have concerns over acts of neglect or cruelty that they have witnessed concerning UKPR, then they should contact the RSPCA on 0300 1234 999 - 24 hr helpline.

2nd Update: Below post, courtesy of Close UKPR for good

This should make it quite clear to everybody just exactly the type of people, we are dealing with here.

Several people (witness names on file) who are closely following what is now unfolding and offering their assistance have asked me to write this as a ‘warning’ for others for their own sakes because they have personally been threatened by Vikky and would not like to see any harm come to anyone else.

We agree and this is the reason for this post.

BUT PLEASE DO NOT BE INTIMIDATED INTO SILENCE BY THESE PEOPLE!

The question is; How low will they go to silence the truth?

Threats of violence, intimidation, threats of legal action and trying to destroy people’s livelihoods for speaking their truth, is the order of the day from the leadership of UK Parrot Rescue and it stops here.

Let me say this “None of these actions that have already been inflicted upon us the founders of this blog will work. We have not lowered ourselves down to their level, we are still standing, speaking our truth and compiling all of the evidence ready for a thorough investigation by all of the relevant authorities”

If we do not defend the rights of innocent vulnerable pet birds from unscrupulous human beings then who will?

Now is your time to act.

In my opinion Vikky is nothing but a bully and a criminal, exploiting innocent vulnerable birds, unsuspecting pet owners, and bird lovers. All for her own ill-gotten gains and is going to be exposed as such, to put a stop to the damage being caused to birds that are signed into her name, and the heartache and fear inflicted upon other bird lovers.

Several people stepped forward to share their stories on this blog and have ended up with Vikky using their personal contact details, that she had on file at UKPR HQ, to call their places of work trying to complain to their bosses that they had been using their work computer to comment on forums. Vindictively seeking to get them the sack, thus the loss of their livelihoods, and all for daring to speak about their own personal experiences at the hands of UKPR (Vikky). Intimidating people and trying to scare them into silence with threats of legal action. Thankfully, it did not work and no harm has been done, with those people involved now vowing to stand their ground and possibly bring legal charges against Vikky herself.

Vikky can no longer silence the truth from being told by banning people from her forum because this platform now stands, and she has absolutely no other way of silencing the truth from being told other than to resort to intimidation and threats of violence, aiming to scare people from speaking out against her and the day to day running of UKPR business.

Bully comes to mind!

These actions carried out by Vikky herself I believe constitute the criminal offence of harassment, the same offence that her driver Jamie has now been issued with a police warning for. So, in their attempts to intimidate us into silence one of them now has this hanging over his head, banning him from coming anywhere near or contacting in anyway, with the threat of arrest and possible imprisonment if he does. His Captain has left herself wide open to be arrested for the same charge.

We know for a fact, that this type of UKPR conduct of intimidation and harassment carried out by their driver Jamie is not an isolated incident because we have on file another person who has encountered the exact same thing from these exact same people. The only difference being that they got away with their conduct last time, and seized a much loved bird from a foster family that now sits in Jamie’s house, a little bird that has been passed from pillar to post because for whatever reason UKPR (Vikky) has decided that’s what should be done with the poor bird.

Jamie the UKPR driver has been used as cannon fodder by Vikky to do her dirty work for her. This can be proved by the fact that on the evening before he came around the house wanting to seize Mylo on behalf of Vikky he obviously wanted to stay well out of things and stated in black and white on this blog, that he no longer was a member of UKPR, and that he does not carry out "day to day" business for them.

So this being the case, why did he turn up at the house the very next day with another man expecting to seize Mylo if he was no longer a part of UKPR and did not carry out "day to day" business for them?

Evidence below, and please keep in the back of your mind when reading, how you would have felt at 12 o’clock at night with this person aiming these threats and subtle innuendos towards you, which also included a couple of phone calls threatening violence? It is no wonder people feel it easier to just give in and do what they say when they have this type of person threatening them, or sitting fearing the full force of Vikky’s wrath.

No longer working for UKPR: Image 1 – Image 2 – Image 3 – Image 4

Bold
I wonder whether the seized micro-chipped UKPR Eclectus called Cherry that he now has in his care came into the equation?

If he didn’t do as he was told, then would he have had this bird seized from him at some point in the future for not carrying out Vikky’s orders? Or was his actions pay back for being given the UKPR owned Eclectus he had seized?

Quite a strong hold over peoples lives, and a strong motivation for them to do what they are told from the helm (Vikky) don’t you think? Thoughts of possibly having the bird they love that is in their care seized if they do not carry out her will.

Does that sound familiar to you?

Everybody knows, who now sits on Vikky’s naughty step (banned UKPR members joke), that if you upset her, the very first thing that happens is that she comes around your house and seizes back the birds that are in your care. If foster families do not comply with her demands then the usual threats of violence and intimidation from her heavies, and court action follows. She looks upon these birds as nothing more than her ‘property’ because ownership has been signed over into her name from unsuspecting pet owners that have needed a new home for their pets, or from birds that have been rescued by the RSPCA and unwittingly handed over and into her hands. When this happens there is no thought for the bird in questions welfare and well being, only of her desire to hurt and punish the person who has stepped out of line and dared question her. These people that do, are then banned from her forum so that they cannot tell anyone what has happened.

Do as Vikky says or else!!!

UKPR members and bird fosterers ruled with an iron rod!!!

(We know for a fact that there are other people out there now reading this who have had similar experiences of intimidation, threats of violence, and campaigns of harassment waged against them by UKPR.

If you are one of them please contact us, or have your story ready for the RSPCA/Police.)

Vikky is a known bird breeder, and is using UKPR and the birds that pass through the rescue service part of her business, to control and manipulate innocent bird lovers so that she gets her own way, while all along pilfering at the expense of rescued pet birds and those who donate to the organisation.

There are also claims of rescued birds that have passed through UKPR being placed into the hands of a convicted bird smuggler and breeder who spent time in prison for his actions. We know for a fact by his own admission that Alan who is another UKPR worker and has been a bird breeder for 28 years and is good friends with the person in question and also has UKPR birds in his care.

Work that one out for yourself.

The pet bird welfare, and the financial side of their lives is a lawless world, and is being exploited by these people at the expense of vulnerable birds, and people whose only desire is to give these wonderful creatures the life they deserve.

You have to ask the question; what do those UKPR people who are staunchly protecting Vikky with their lies and half truths, have to lose, or cover up?

The truth always comes out in the end, with the false realities that have been created with lies being exposed for what they are, and the truth breaking through for all to see as it speaks clearly to all those who are listening.

HELP US NOT LET THEM GET AWAY WITH THIS FOR ANY LONGER - SHARE YOUR TRUTH WITHOUT ‘FEAR’ FOR THE SAKE OF THE DEFENCELESS PET BIRDS IN YOUR CARE OR THE ONES THAT HAVE BEEN RIPPED FROM YOUR FAMILY BY UKPR (Vikky).

UPDATE: Mylo The Military Macaw

A short update on Mylo, who is at the centre of this controversy.

He is a beautiful Military Macaw who just wants love and attention which he is now getting from all of my family. He is fine with all of us and has formed a particular bond with my partner, who he follows around the house, and riding about on his shoulder at every opportunity.

He is a typical Military Macaw, a boisterous and bolshie little fellow full of character and … an absolute darling.

Mylo and JJ’s care and welfare is at the centre of what has started this fight with UKPR (Vikky), after she demanded him back because he was their 'property'. This is now being shown to be a common occurrence with UKPR rescue birds signed into their care and their fosterers.

Birds being shipped from pillar to post with no real thought of the bird’s well being, on the orders of Vikky because of any perceived slight against her.

As Mylo is in my care, his welfare is all that's important and is one of the contentions we now have with UKPR (Vikky). Mylo is part of a bonded pair of Macaws and was supposed to arrive with his partner JJ last Saturday evening. As everybody knows, he didn’t arrive with JJ because of the incompetence of UKPR workers and their handling of the transportation of these two birds. Is it any wonder one of the birds was injured in the process, with two people who were, by their own admission, scared of these big birds, trying to squeeze them both in one small dog crate? So because of this, a long time bonded pair were split up. (Links embedded are of the UKPR driver and fosterer charged with moving JJ & Mylo)

My only desire is to have these two birds re-united for the sake of both of their happiness so that they can be together once again, after all that they have been through. However, I am unwilling for Mylo to go back to where he came from, for all of the reasons stated on my previous post.

If JJ had arrived as pre-arranged then we would not be having this now.

I am currently liasing with the RSPCA and Police over this matter and in the first instance working towards what’s best for Mylo and JJ. I have decided that in Mylo’s best interest, if viable he should be placed into the care of a third party who is neutral in all of this, and work with the RSPCA to have JJ join him.

Arguments and squabbling aside there is a bonded pair of Macaws now separated and that fact breaks my heart.

We have been contacted by a well known and very reputable rescuer who has agreed to take Mylo and JJ into care until the RSPCA and Police have done a thorough investigation into this case and decided what they believe to be the best course of action for the well being of these two birds.

The big question is… Will UKPR (Vikky) be prepared to allow JJ go into the care of a third party under the guidance of the RSPCA?

As rescuers, the birds welfare and well being of each of the birds in our care should be paramount to each of us, and not the ownership of these defenceless animals.

I would like to stress that I do not want to keep these two birds apart which is why I want nothing more than for them to both to be re-united in the hands of a neutral third party.

If anyone disagrees with this then please leave your comments below.

As most people will be aware, Mylo has come into my care with what is suspected by the vet, to be Nasal Aspergillosis which is now another one of the reasons why I will not allow him to go back to the environment where he came from. Vikky has blatantly lied by stating that I wear perfume which has inflamed this respiratory condition. As a bird lover who has cared for rescue birds for a number of years I am acutely aware of the importance of the condition of the air surrounding birds, which is why I use a state of the art air purifier in my home and ensure that they are not exposed to toxins or irritants of any kind.

Mylo came from the home of a UKPR worker who was a heavy smoker, as was perfectly evident from the smell of his plumage when he arrived here. so God only knows what damage and distress this caused the poor little boy.

I have now harvested some swabs of the mucus that runs from his nares and handed them to my vet for analysis so as to be able to treat this poor little fella’s breathing condition.

I will keep you updated with developments over JJ and Mylo as they happen.

The theft of my little green singing finch

In reading this post about my little green finch, please keep in mind Vikky’s accusation here on this link, of me being a ‘freebie hunter’, and Vikky doesnt have any UKPR birds herself because everybody else is looking after them for her!

Updated: below with a comment from the comments section of: Who are UKPR?

Several weeks back a local animal rescue charity I work with called me regarding an elderly gentleman who had two small birds that he needed rehoming because he could no longer care for them.

I went and collected them, returned them home and profiled the two as a Canary and Java sparrow. (I was later to find out that the Canary was in fact a Green Singing Finch.)

As someone who had been a UKPR forum member and sat back and watched what was going on, on the forum since my time of joining, I had watched many people sent to the naughty step (banned) by Vikky in that time. Because nobody is allowed to talk about UKPR experiences anywhere else on the net, and there was no other medium for people to share their stories no one ever knew what people had done to earn banning.

This situation with the little Green Singing Finch that had come into my care, and the situation with JJ and Mylo resulted in me being banned from the UKPR forum and the thread removed, thus silencing the truth from being told about my situation, just like all those times it had happened to other people before me.

I was appalled at the shady dealings and dodgy activities that I had encountered during my brief personal dealings with UKPR including their total disregard for the welfare of the rescued birds. I believed there was no way my experience could be an isolated incident so decided to set up this blog to provide an open forum where other people who had experienced similar things at the hands of UKPR could come forward and share their side of the story and together we could gather a clearer picture of what is actually going on with this ‘rescue’ organisation.

Through my short dealings with UKPR, it is my personal belief, based upon the facts, that the founder of UKPR (Vikky) has seriously lost sight of what UKPR was initially started for, unless that is, she knew all along, which would not surprise me. That being the case, the welfare of vulnerable birds that have been placed into her care as a rescue have become I would say, 3rd place in her list of priorities. 1st place is what her and her close UKPR associates can garner from their bird rescue forum and all of its caring members and bird owners needing to rehome their pets, and 2nd is her pride in never wanting to ever be wrong because she’s the boss of UKPR, even at the expense of the birds.

If we as bird rescuers and lovers, do not defend the rights of birds to be protected from unscrupulous human beings then who will?

As many people reading this blog know, the rescue birds in our care are our responsibility so we should defend their welfare if we are right, no matter what is inflicted upon us by those who profess to be rescuers, who in fact are professional breeders masquerading as rescuers, because it is a licence to print money with no real rules to hold anybody to account.

The only ones who lose out in all of this are the innocent, defenceless birds who become nothing more than money making machines and high value property for those whose signature is on the piece of paper stating ownership.

For instance, look at how UKPR ask potential fosterers to donate money for the rescue bird they are willing to give a new home to, and then they place a monetary figure on their heads, and not a small figure either. The bird is then always (Vikky) UKPR’s high value possession available to demand back at any time, which we are now finding out is a common occurrence with UKPR rescue birds. The foster family who takes on a UKPR bird has the sole responsibility of all costs for the bird for as long as he or she is in their care. So UKPR (Vikky) owns every high monetary value bird that is out there now which has passed through UKPR hands. A sentient creature that has a loving family caring for it, who I should expect after hearing some of the stories now coming out, is petrified of the knock on their front door from the UKPR heavies demanding the bird back who they have bonded with, has adjusted to their new home and is now living with them as part of their family.

The question is; where does all of that donated money go that foster families are paying for the rescued birds they are caring for?

I wonder whether or not you are allowed to ask for a donation towards a rescued bird if you are not a charity?

That was until the finch episode that played out across telephone and email away from the UKPR forum with Vikky, and the cage scenario that did.

Back to my little green finch:

He came to me with his Java Sparrow cage mate came in a nice spacious cage and settled in my home enchanting us all with his heartbreakingly beautiful song. For me he could happily have stayed with us but I noticed that he spent most of his day flitting to and fro from his little mirror brushing his face against his reflection which I found very sad and decided that a good home with others of his own kind would be the best situation for his happiness.

I posted on a thread on the UKPR forum to rehome the finch and sparrow, but sadly within 24 hours of the move, the little sparrow died so I was left with the responsibility of homing the finch alone.

I was contacted by Pauline, another UKPR member (also now banned from the forum!) who has an aviary and offered to take my little green singing finch in and give him a home with her finches. I agreed, hesitantly, might I add, because I had become very fond of hearing his beautiful little voice but knew the best place for him was in an aviary with other birds. I did say at the time that I would not let him go to a home if he was just going to be stuck in a cage somewhere because if that was the case I would have kept him with me because he was no trouble and settled in well.

This scenario with my finch played out on the UKPR forum at the same time as Adele and Vikky asked me to take in JJ and Mylo. So it was arranged that I would drop off my finch to Jamie the driver who lives close by and he would deliver it the next day to Pauline before picking up JJ and Mylo to bring him back with him.

So I dropped off the little finch last Friday night and spent some time at the home of Jamie the driver. At the same time Alan (ex UKPR) was there who had also dropped off a canary that was also going to Pauline’s.

Jamie’s first words when he set eyes on the finch was that it is a green singing finch and not a canary (because I had first thought it was a canary), and the second thing that came out of his mouth was that they are worth 60 or 70 pounds, and then I believe he said he used to breed them (don’t quote me 100% on that though).

We didn’t think anything of what was said at the time, it is only now that the real picture is emerging.

During the course of the conversations that night at Jamie’s house, we were told that the aviary at the back of the house was for breeding ring neck parakeets, which he himself clearly states here. We also got to see his badly plucked UKPR Eclectus hen called Cherry, who we now know, has her own sad story which mirrors my experiences on this blog, and the experiences of others posting here. We didn’t think anything more about it, and in chatting Jamie said that he is going to be getting a partner for her. He also told us how female Eclectus’ want to breed all the time, and that she keeps getting out of her cage trying to nest under the table below. Again we didn’t take a second thought over what he was telling us because at the time we never knew what had been going on.

Jamie has denied saying he was going to breed her and that he was going to get her a female partner, but it is my belief that it has been stated that Cherry will not tolerate other female Eclectus’ (can anyone confirm or deny this).

After the course of the conversation and now knowing everything that we do, what do you think our belief is about what Cherry is intended for? And what do you personally think yourself?

(Cherry’s story will be coming soon which adds credence to everything that has happened to me so far. That is if her previous foster carer is willing to tell her side of the story, so please keep coming back.)

We then left Jamie’s and waited for JJ and Mylo to arrive the next day.

Early evening Saturday night I received an email from Pauline (at the bottom of post) telling me that the little green singing finch hadn’t arrived with her. Vikky had met her to hand over the birds that were destined for her only to be told that she is keeping the little green singing finch for herself, that she would be putting it in a cage with another bird.

So Vikky had stolen my little green singing finch that was destined for Pauline, for herself.

Who knows what went on in her mind for her to decide to take possession of my property as if it was her God given right, considering her and Jamie are both bird breeders/sellers and they knew how much these little finches where worth?

Easy to sell a cheap finch for a quick buck than a 1000 pound parrot don’t you think?

Both myself and Pauline were furious at what had just occurred. Pauline because she was expecting my little green singing finch as arranged which had now been ‘claimed’ (stolen) by Vikky, and me because Vikky had absolutely no right to take possession of my finch. Furthermore, because she had no thought about the birds welfare and wanted to stick it in a cage in her front room which was not what I wanted, and the only reason he was on his way to Pauline’s.

I really have not been as furious as I was Saturday evening in a long while over how Vikky had believed it her right to do what she wanted without the slightest thought of anyone else. It was as if me and Pauline meant nothing, and because the bird I wanted in Pauline’s aviary was now in Vikky’s front room in a small cage.

I didn’t know what to do or what to say about what had just happened and JJ and Mylo were on their way so I did nothing and allowed myself to calm down.

As I had heard nothing all day, I emailed Adele to find out whether JJ and Mylo were on their way. I then received a call from her half an hour before Jamie (UKPR driver) arrived, telling me that Mylo would be arriving alone as he and JJ had fought resulting in a nasty injury to JJ’s foot.

Shortly after this Jamie arrived with Mylo but said there was no cage for him despite Adele reassuring me that morning she would had said she would sort one for him.

After Jamie had left I rang Vikky to let her know that Mylo had arrived safely and to ask about the finch. She told me that she had decided to keep the finch for herself and was quite put out and abrupt with me when I said that I wanted him to go to Pauline as had been arranged. Snapping “FINE, FINE, Pauline can have him then!!”

Five minutes later she rang back stating I had called her a thief, (obviously after speaking to Jamie) and that she would call me the next day.

‘It’s only a finch’ was Vikky’s attitude.

Yes it might only be a little finch and not a big Cockatoo or something similar, but it is still a bird (as I hope everyone agrees), whose welfare was my responsibility. This contempt for my little finch shows that there is no concern for the welfare of birds on the part of the founder of UKPR the supposed bird rescue service. They are just possessions with monetary value over their heads.

Then the next day on the back of this situtation I posed the question of the cage that played out on the forum and can be read here: The infamous removed thread

Pauline's account

Caron and I had arranged, on the open forum, that I would have her lonely canary, which turned out to be a finch, and also a lonely canary that Alan had.
Jay offered to bring these down when he went to collect JJ and Mylo, and I was willing to collect them from Adele's.

Then Vikky phones me to say she's got them and will drop them off, we were off to Northampton (needed to buy a new PC) so we arranged to meet outside PC World. When we got there she handed me a cage with just the canary, so I asked if they were caged separately. She said 'yes, but I'm keeping the other one as a friend for whats-his-name (she has a canary, can't remember the name)'. I was so gobsmacked that by the time I took it in it was 'bye, see you later' and they were gone (Shell was with her).

The last time I saw that canary it was still in a budgie cage - I don't know whether it has been put into a bigger cage since. Even though this bird was on a pre-arranged journey from its' owner to the new home its' owner had chosen, Vikky thinks she has the right to just decide she is going to take him. Even though Caron had specifically stated on the forum that she wanted him in an aviary with others of his own kind, not in a budgie cage. And Vikky's angry reaction the next day when Roy collected him - 'I don't know what all the fuss is about - it's ONLY a finch'. She could not see that what she had done was wrong..... And I believe it was because Caron phoned her Sat night and said that she wanted the finch to go where it was supposed to, that Vikky turned against Caron.

Vikky also said to me in her defence (re the finch) that she thought it was a UKPR bird - personally I believe that even if it had been, she still would not have had the right to take a bird that was on a pre-arranged journey to a pre-arranged home.

Well how interesting is all this?

I only spoke to Vicky once, and that was enough. I had been approached by someone who knew I had Too's and experience with them. I can never agree with the white Too's being bred and reared as pets, they are way too needy a bird to be someones toy for a while. But when I was asked if I could take on Pebbles, a so called GSCockatoo, I said I didnt need another Too, but was willing to speak to the woman whose number I was given.

I spoke to Vivky and told her who I was, and she said she had been waiting to hear from me. She told me all about Pebbles and seemed happy that I knew what I was doing with cockatoo's. Then I said but I really dont intend to 'donate'£150' to take him on. My exact words were, 'I dont need another cockatoo, but maybe Pebbles needs me' a deadly hush came over the phone, and then,'Oh, well we need to discuss this with(the person who first approached me) and I will get back to you'

I am so glad I didnt hold my breath, I was worried where the bird would end up, so asked around,he was homed with a UKPRmod, who had already had to give up one Too because he bit her and scared her!! and then poor Pebbles went on to someone else, where I pray he isnt used to breed, how many tame cockatoos die because some grasping moron wants to breed from them? and interestingly enough, if Pebbles was a GS, I would eat my hat!! and not even a hybrid, he is a Triton through and through.

Sorry, I had no intention on joining in on this, but stupidity and incompetence and birds being put second to greed and vanity totally leaves me steaming!!

Yet another shameful UKPR episode

(If you feel as we do, that a complaint should be lodged to have UKPR investigated by the relevant authorities, then please keep this email in mind and in due course, once we have compiled all of the relevant information on this blog, we can push for action to be undertaken)

Greetings,

You are more than welcome to post this on your site if you think it helpful. I shall try to keep this story factual in the hopes that it can be of genuine use.

For a brief time in the fall of 2008 I was an emergency carer for UKPR. During that time I cared for 5 birds, two of which were canaries that lived in my home for four weeks during October/November of 2008. These birds arrived at my house in fairly decent shape. There was a lizard canary and a larger yellow one. The larger bird had a wound healing on the banded leg and a scab under the eye on the same side of its body. Both wounds were clean and infection free, healing well.

I watched these birds carefully, medicating the larger one as I had been instructed to do by the ACO. Feeding them a good diet. I watched their condition improve and they were living in harmony singing in the morning. Certainly a sign of wellbeing.

Then for unrelated reasons I was banned from UKPR and Vikky demanded that I return the canaries to emergency carers still in her good graces living on the other side of my town. At that time I noticed that the larger one was tearing a bit from the injured eye and I emailed her saying I would return the birds after I had taken them to the vet. I was very surprised to get a frantic email from her admonishing me to return the birds, not to take it to the vet and if I did, warning me that she would not pay for their care. Knowing, as I did, that she had never laid eyes on the birds and had no clue of their condition, I emailed her back saying, not to worry. I would gladly pay for the bird’s care and I was taking it to the vet as I thought it prudent.

The vet looked the bird over and pronounced it in excellent shape; The leg healing well and that there was a scab under the eye that would need watching. I then brought the canaries to the E/Cs where I was asked to drop them. I explained exactly what the vet said and how to care for the birds. Once again, they were in good shape at the time excepting the scab under the eye of the larger one.

The next thing I heard of the canaries was that Vikky posted on the UKPR site that the canaries had been brought to UKPR in bad shape. That the larger one had been brought to them with only one eye and the smaller was attacking it so they two had to be separated.

I was physically sick after I read this. Those animals were healthy and doing well when they left my home and I have the vet’s written dated report that proves it!

Vikky and UKPR were a source of real anxiety to me in Autumn 2008. Largely because I was deeply concerned about her plans to rehome a severely traumatised bird that was in my care. Vikky planned to hand the bird to a fosterer that had a huge number of birds and as well as dogs. Vikky herself had written in the bird’s overview, that he had lived in a home where dogs were encouraged to attack the bird’s cage and he needed a very quiet environment. After I voiced these concerns to Vikky, I was insulted and banned from the site.

I was hearing some very worrying stories about UKPR and after Vikky ranted at me I decided to refuse to take her phone calls. I haven’t the faintest idea why she thought I would subject myself to such abuse? But, I believe that this policy is the key reason I have not had the type of experience others are reporting on this site. If Vikky wanted to rant at me, she had to email me. And that means there is a long paper trail of crazy, mean spirited vitriol. I would not be bullied and I was at the point of having my attorney contact her when she stopped harassing me. I think she probably took a moment and read over some of what she wrote, and decided it was perhaps prudent to desist.

I have done some due diligence on UKPR and turned up the following additional facts.

1) The registration on the UKPR web site is held by Vikky privately;

2a) There is no company registered at companies house that resolve as UKPR or UK Parrot Rescue;

2b) Nor is there a registered charity called UKPR; That means she is accepting ‘donations’ which potentially should be classed as income.

The Charity Commission has commented that under the terms of the Charity acts of 1993 (as amended by the charities act 2006), a private person is not permitted to receive donations. What she is doing may be fraud. Perhaps if others had documentable evidence of this they could forward that information to this address.

Perhaps the weight of numbers will cause action?

The UKPR Heavies who threaten bird owners

The UKPR heavies who were sent to a womans home to impound and transport a sick rescue bird (Mylo the Military Macaw) on behalf of Vikky the UKPR founder.

I wouldnt want to be a woman 'home alone' with these two knocking on my front door demanding for the re-homed bird in my care would you?

Update: Charlotte Smith's story below

Update: Fred's story below

This morning started with a call from Northamptonshire police saying that I had to give Mylo back to Vikky and that she would be coming to collect.

I sat back and thought that there wasn’t really much more I could do now that the police had said I had to give him back. However, as someone who is passionate about birds with a vulnerable bird in my care, I thought he hasn’t gone from me yet so there is still a fight left for his future.

Would you fight for your rescued bird no matter how hard or for how long, or sit back and allow him/her to be returned to Vikky and the home he had just been removed from?

An hour later Jamie pulled up outside my driveway in his van, to collect Mylo (the same Jamie who last night, said he had now stood down from UKPR). After all of the threats of violence and intimidation I received last night on the ‘Who are UKPR? Thread’ from this same person. It was quite clear he would not be coming into my home and that Mylo would not be leaving as per the police conversation this morning stating that Vikky would be coming to collect him.

Knock, Knock, Knock… and there was Jamie standing at my door with his dog crate. Paul went down and told him he is not taking Mylo because he will not be leaving here today unless Vikky comes and collects him herself, or the police phone and tell us we have no alternative but to release him to Jamie.

Off he trots to his van leaving his dog crate behind and starts making his phone calls.

At this point it was noticed he was not alone as the picture above shows, so it is quite clear that he had arrived at my home to try and impound Mylo for UKPR mob handed. After the nasty threats of violence last night it wasn’t a nice situation to find myself in, so can empathise with all of those people who have experienced the exact same scenario at the hands of these people.

I know there are other people out there reading this who have had the same happen to them so please share your stories anonymously if you wish, so that those who are now looking will eventually be able to see that this is not an isolated incident. Please, please do not be scared or intimidated by these people. You’re innocent bird lovers not violent criminals so do not deserve to be treated this way by what is supposed to be a bird rescue service.

The welfare of the bird that is in your care is paramount. Together we can and will defend their rights to be protected.

From our own personal encounter and the stories other people have shared so far, threats of violence and intimidation from UKPR workers so that they get their own way over the lives of innocent rescued birds that have been signed into their care seems to be common practice and why this now needs to stop.

The evidence is piling up.

Jamie then sat outside in his van talking on his mobile phone, while we waited to see what was going to happen next from him, or receive the call from Northamptonshire police so that we could point out that in no uncertain terms that Mylo would not be travelling with Jamie today.

During this time, I was reading all of the supportive emails and comments flooding in through this blog, and thankfully, which was a God send at the time that this happened, a kind and caring rescuer from down south (don’t know if I can mention his name) contacted me asking to speak on the phone. He is very knowledgeable about the legal aspects of Mylo now being in my care and stated in no uncertain terms that Mylo was a civil matter not criminal matter so there was nothing the police could do, and tell them that Mylo would not be leaving this house today.

Then all of a sudden I noticed out of the window, Jamie emerge from his van and walk across the path while a police car pulled up.

They had now called the police in to demand their bird back because the bully boy tactics were not going to work today.

Jamie was told he is not coming into the house, and the police officer was invited in shortly after accompanied by her collegue who where then told our side of events. This included some of the stories already shared here to highlight the fact that this is not a fight over the ownership of Mylo this is a fight over the dodgy dealings of UKPR.

The two officers then left to speak with Jamie to hear his side of events and to call through to their sergeant to determine the best course of action over this incident.

Upon glancing out of the window and finding it quite unbelievable that Jamie would be sitting outside my house waiting for the police to impound Mylo, the violent threats he made on here came to mind so it was decided that if he wants to call the police on me, then he should have a taste of his own medicine based on the written evidence on this blog.

My partner quickly went outside to speak with the police dealing with events to make a complaint of the section 4 offence being committed against me, and invite him to view the evidence. Whilst this was going on I received another comment that is at the bottom of this post from another person who has been through a similar experience with UKPR and stated that they too had been threatened to have their “face smashed in” by UKPR associates.

This just supported the section 4 complaint that I was making, so after I had shown my partner he went back out and told the officer about it so as to point out these are not isolated claims but a pattern of UKPR behaviour which IS criminality so should be investigated.

In some peoples eyes it might only be pet birds, but as all bird lovers know, in the eyes of those who have them as pets they are more than just birds, they are a part of the family, like children. Anyone breaking the law to harm these pets or their owners should face the consequences of their actions through the law of the land that is in place to protect animals and people.

Why should Jamie the UKPR worker not face the consequences of his actions?

Nobody should be silenced from doing or saying what is right through threats of violence and intimidation.

That being the case.. Jamie got a taste of his own medicine.

In the process of the two officers working out what should be done over the possession of Mylo, I was on the phone to the RSPCA detailing Mylo’s plight and UKPR’s fight to take possession of him.

When the officers returned they agreed that the best place for Mylo at this moment in time was here with me until the RSPCA had investigated everything and decided what they believed would be the best course of action for Mylo.

Once that was settled, I pointed out that I wanted action taken against Jamie’s threats through this blog and the abusive threatening phone calls received last night. It was decided that he should receive a ‘harrassment warning’, cautioning him over his actions and stating that he would be arrested if he came anywhere near me or tried contacting me in anyway, either directly or indirectly.

So UKPR arrived this morning mob handed, that didn’t work so they called in reinforcements (the police), and that didn’t work, then they themselves left with a written police caution for their actions.

Foster parents remember, those who want to take birds that are in your care from your possession must first get past you, who has the best interests and welfare of the birds in your care at heart.

What would the authorities do to a human fostering organisation that acted like UKPR do?

They would be shut down, hauled before a court and imprisoned where possible.

Why should pet birds be any different?

I became a member of UKPR sometime last year. It seemed like a fantastic concept to be able to chat to people with the same interest in parrots as well as the combined knowledge of everyone.

I first started to feel confused with UKPR's attitude or shall we say certain members attitude when one of the moderators was outted for trying to think of the birds best interests but didn't feel that I could defend this member for fear of having my account blocked.

I continued to log on daily and then, one day in Ocotber last year, I had a phone call from my vet asking if I would like to rehome an Alexandrine Parakeet now known as Lexi. She gave me the owner's contact number and so I decided to give it a go.

Now, I have an almost 2 year old daughter as well as 2 cockatoos, so my days were already awfully full. So, naturally, I felt concerned that I may not be able to devote enough time to Lexi and I made the owner's completely aware of this saying that we would give it a go for a few weeks or so to see if Lexi would settle with us and to see if I could handle another bird.

Obviously, being a member of UKPR, I did go onto the forum and tell them all that I might take on another bird and, if things didn't go right, I may want to rehome him via UKPR. I also made the owner's aware that this may happen and that I would always leave the end decision to them.

They already had worries about UKPR, having already spoken to Vikky. They said that they had fears Lexi would be sold to a breeder and believed he would be pushed from pillar to post. At the time I reassured the, telling them that the decision was theirs.

I had a day of cold feet - could I really give up more time - again I went onto the UKPR forum to get one of the moderator's phone number, purely to discuss the ins and outs of having him rehomed if he didn't settle. This is where the problems started.

I never phoned the moderator in the end and Lexi was dropped off by his owners. Everyone was happy until the next morning when the same moderator I had planned to speak to called me. She told me that she'd tried to call me the previous night and that she was worried Lexi's owner might come knocking on the door. She told me that the owners called her saying that they now wanted him to be rehomed via UKPR and that, if I didn't comply, one of Lexi's owners had threatened to 'smash my face in'. Initially this really scared me and I told my partner, who phoned Lexi's owner which only made things worse.

In the end I called the owner back and apologised for all of the hassle. They couldn't understand what had happened, thinking that everything was sorted only to get a phone call from the same UKPR woman they'd spoken to before.saying that I wanted him rehomed. Now completely confused I asked them what they wanted me to do. I never said that I would definately rehome him so, did they want hm to stay with me? They always happy for him to stay here but were thrown off course by the moderator's phonecall.

With the decision made I emailed the moderator telling her that the owner's wanted him to stay put. I admit now that I didn't want to speak to her on the phone. I felt so angry and stressed by the fuss she'd caused. She did call and spoke to my partner. She hung up on him in the end and all of my aquaintances that have spoken with her have said that she's unprofessional and rude. I have, since then, avoided the UKPR forum and would urge others to do the same.

When Charlotte told me that there was now a website where people were sending their stories about UKPR I felt I had to get my side of the story to you to back up Charlotte's side. Charlotte called me at work to let me know that the vet had called about rehoming Lexi and I was happy for him to come and live with us. Charlotte was excited to be taking on Lexi as we had recently lost our little Hahns, Jack to coccidia. She spoke to Lexi's owners, Alice and Dan (not real names), in the evening and mentioned to them that we may not have the time to give Lexi and, if things didn't go as planned, how did they feel about us rehoming him through UKPR. They had their worries, especially Dan, who had spoken to Vikky and felt that she wasn't as genuine as she liked to make out. He said that she had a smoker's cough and a rude phone manner. He felt she would push Lexi from pillar to post without any real care for him. Now, Charlotte had never spoken to Vikky but, having been a part of UKPR for around 6 months, she told Alice and Dan that she believed that only the bird's best interests were at heart and that he would go to a home that was right for him. Charlotte even told them that she would be happy to keep them informed every step of the way if it did come to rehoming Lexi.

On the day that Lexi arrived Charlotte started to worry more about Lexi's wellbeing and whether we could cater for another bird. She voiced her concerns on the UKPR forum and everyone was supportive. She asked for Vikky's number but never called because, once Lexi arrived, we all fell in love with him and decided that we could give him as good a home as any.

Lexi took to us as well as we did to him which was great and he settled in brilliantly. Charlotte went onto the forum and told everyone that we would be keeping him, and everyone seemed pleased by this decision. At 10.30pm our phone was rining and we were in bed so no one answered. The next morning Charlotte was called by Vikky who told us that Alice and Dan wanted Lexi rehomed through UKPR and that she would be collecting him on Monday as she had another Alexandrine to pair him up with. Charlotte told her that she thought he was staying but Vikky told her again that Alice and Dan wanted him rehomed and that, if Charlotte refused to hand Lexi over, Dan had threatened to come round to smash her face in. Now thoroughly concerned I called Dan who was adament that he hadn't said such a thing and I'll admit that I didn't help the situation being angry that someone had threatened my partner. We talked the situation over amongst ourselves and Charlotte eventually agreed to call Alice.

Alice seemed as confused as us saying that Vikky had called at 10pm the night before to tell them Charlotte felt it would be best to rehome Lexi. She told us that Dan had been furious as Charlotte had seemed happy enough to keep Lexi and he felt she'd misled them. Charlotte explained that she was happy for him to stay put and had been since he'd arrived. She then asked Alice what they wanted her to do. Did they want Lexi to go with UKPR or to stay here with us? They wanted him to stay and so the decision was made.

Charlotte didn't want to speak to Vikky having heard plenty of stories about Vikky's reactions to plan changes so she emailed Vikky explaining the situation and apologising for any inconvinience. Vikky called and I spoke to her. I told her that we'd never asked for her involvment and yet she seemed to think that we had. She shouted at me about how she'd put so much work into tramsporting Lexi and rehoming him. She is the rudest and most unprofessional preson I have ever spoken to and I was happy to tell her so on the phone. She hung up on me.

Half an hour later Alice called to tell us that Dan had spoken to Vikky who had also hung up on him.

The point is that despite having come to decisions with the owners, decisions that the owners had made themselves, there should never have been a problem. The only reason that problems arose is because Vikky brought it upon herself to get involved and then forced her opinion onto others. After hearing Vikky's opinion about other ex-member's 'people skills' or lack of, I would like to say that the only person lacking people skills is Vikky.

I'm happy for you to post my story along with Charlotte's and hope that it's of some use.
