Good news?

Vikky has tonight, posted the following statement on the UKPR forum...

Why do we do it?

Well long and short of it all is we arent!!!

Failure or success?? make up your own minds

Im sure some of you will be pleased to hear we will no longer be taking in birds!!!!

why??

because deal with parrots we can do,deal with people anymore,we wont!!

(present events with barney aside )

the whole team is sick and tired of being ground down all the time by those that are sick and twisted enough to continually snipe, pick and generally be nasty,(not directed at presentently posting members)we are sick of those who think that being a member entitles them to know everything about the ins and outs of the rescue, from who farted last to who's going to fart next,we are sick of people that have nothing better to do than criticise what they cant be bothered to get of their Arses and do themselves,we are sick of people that assume a lot but actually know nothing,we are sick of spending money to be told we are making money,we are sick of being told we arent good enough, when we are trying our best,we are sick of having to homecheck numpties for the sake of fairness, even though we all know they wont get a bird,we are sick of,we are sick of having to put up with all the crap we get just because people think they have the right to as "they are volunteers/fosterers,contributing forum members",we have put up with this for the last 2 years, and we kept plodding on for the sake of the birds

so what to do??? well

As UKPR despite what people think,is determined to help birds across the UK but are sick of people ruining the pleasure we used to get from doing this,we shall be cutting out those that mean we are constantly interrupted from the hard work we put in,so how do we do that

cut out the people

what we will be doing,is creating a huge database of rescues across the UK and leaving members to attach their personal experiences as to how it went, like for instance, the NPS we shall atach GG report for all to see,so that anyone that may be interested in homing a bird there, will be able to view this information to make a better informed desicion about whether to or not,we shall also be increasing the amount of general welfare information on the boards, and its obvious that the best information comes from you lot,i know i dont just speak for myself when i say,i fel very very releived about making this desicion, and it was one made by the committee, this in due course will be abolished, the constitution will be no more and both will be put in the bin,and we will be back to having good ole me in charge, arent you all glad that vikky the despot is back
we will still carry a lifelong responsibilty to the birds we have fostered, and all those currently in EC will be offered to their EC's before being found homes
so......all that is left to say is a huge great big thank you to all those that have helped past and present, with a special thank you to all the team, there shall be 4 admins

myself, linda alan and trish, with the addition of 2 or 3 mods

and if any of you are having secret liitle giggle because you are under the impression you won,or we have failed,go and have a look in the gallery on the website,i wouldnt call that a failure, and maybe you should consider the hate you feel so desparately is actually jealousy because you will just never be as good as we are,and we can sleep at night knowing we helped so many, you sleep at night dreaming that you could....

Hmmmm??

Yet another of the tried and tested tactics, to batten down the hatches and lie low until the storm blows over?

Not forgetting that we have seen it before, after the JJ and Mylo debacle, when the forum closed down (presumably to have a good clear out of any incriminating posts) for a while, before reappearing and continuing on as if nothing had happened with all mention of JJ and Mylo strictly banned.

Has to be said that the ranks of faithful disciples have rapidly dwindled over the past few days, following the emergence of the tragic story of poor little Barney. Little wonder really, when Vikky refers to her forum members so contemptuously, as "numpties" "who everyone knows won't [be given] a bird"

That will be those "numpties" that have kept her little empire afloat for the past two years!

Nice.

It would be great if this was to be the final ever post on this blog...

Somehow I doubt it will be.

Sadly, it was only a matter of time...

Updates below

Yesterday, I received a series of anonymous emails, asking if I could offer any help to someone wishing to expose yet another latest incident of truly gross ineptitude inflicted on one of the poor birds trustingly placed into UKPR care.

I was sceptical at first of the authenticity of the email, but have tonight learned that the horrific details that I was given, were, almost unbelievably, true. A former member of UKPR staff, Adele, telephoned me this evening to relay the very same, sickening story and to tell me that she had been sacked for disclosing the information to another staff member.

We all know how UKPR like to brush these things under the carpet and hope no one will speak up, which is the exact reason this blog was started over six months ago!

I would like to offer my sincere apologies to 'bradley' for my doubts regarding the information provided in the email.

The story I have been given is not a nice one but here goes...

UKPR had in their care two rescue male Cockatoos, an LSC named 'Barney' and U2 named 'Coco'. These birds had presumably been handed over for rehoming and their former owners no doubt, trusted that UKPR would provide the best possible safe and happy homes for their pets.

As I am banned from the forum and unwilling to expose my computer to the Trojan threats that are rife on their site, I am unaware of the day to day goings on at UKPR but apparently, a 'behaviourist expert' named Wesley Flowers has been recently recruited, to offer advice on the boards to members.

For one reason or another, Coco and Barney were recently handed into the care of Wesley Flowers (allegedly, no homecheck or similar was carried out on this person and it would seem his credentials as an 'expert' were simply taken on his word perhaps?)

Wesley, in his infinite wisdom apparently decided to cage the two birds together (one of which had known aggression issues) A situation that Vikky tonight, defends on her forum, thus...

firstly with regards to barney we are all totally devastated to hear of barneys death,it was vey sad and a very avoidable situation, and there were certainly things that none of us knew anything about!!!!!!!!! like them sharing a cage,if we had of known,we would have told wes to seperate them!!

Well that's alright then!!

UKPR are responsible for the duty of care owed to birds given over to them for rehoming... ANYONE putting themselves up as a potential fosterer should be thoroughly vetted and their circumstances, experience, knowledge scrutinised BEFORE a bird is handed over, particularly in the case of notoriously, 'difficult' birds like Cockatoos.

What happened next was perhaps inevitable to anyone with any knowledge or experience of Cockatoos... The birds fought resulting in Barney receiving serious bite injury to his foot.

From what I have been told, a vet visit, ensued but Barney then self mutilated, chewing off his own foot and consequently, very tragically died, presumably from blood loss.

What a horribly painful, tragic, needless and premature end to a beautiful bird's life.

I can't begin to say how sickened and saddened I am by this latest news.

I just hope that poor Barney's death will not go unheeded and that this sham of a 'rescue' will be now be closed down for good and it's organisers recognised for the pack of greedy, ignorant, charlatans they are.

RIP Barney, Good night and God bless little one xxx

Update 28th September, 2009

The following statement from Wesley Flowers has been posted on the UKPR forum today...

Hi everyone

I would like to clear a few things up. I have an introduction to me in the behaviour section of the forum. As for hands on experience I have 13 years with a wide range of psittacids. My experience range from breeding, hand rearing, positive reinforcement training, bird training for educational displays, and training out ‘problem behaviours’. On the academia side, as you can read in the introduction to the behaviour section, I am studying towards a degree in animal behaviour of which I have already done the animal training module and achieved an ‘A’ grade (this isn’t bad considering I have been out of education for a number of years), for this my course work was done on parrots.

In the unfortunate event regarding the Cacatua alba and the Cacatua sulphurea (Coco and Barney), I can only offer the sincerest of apologies to those concerned, mainly Dave and his family. I would like to state from the start some of the UKPR staff and Dave knew of the intention of introducing the two aforementioned birds together, and I would like to state that no concerns were raised regarding this, (I did have some PM’s with this in but now they have been removed). The injuries sustained in the squabble were minor regarding both birds (basically bites to digits, and Barney sustained a bite to ankle), it was not until Barney was caught and placed in a darkened box to recuperate the real damage was done. On inspection to ascertain the severity of the injuries sustained by Barney the shock of finding him with a self mutilated foot spurred me to get him to a vet for emergence treatment. At the vets, he and I alike were hopeful of a full recovery after an operation to remove the remains of his foot. Unfortunately over night before the operation Barney had tried to mutilate his foot again subsequently sustaining a huge blood loss, and Coco now only a few days on has fully recovered.

As for administration and communication, I can say that I have kept Dave and my contacts in UKPR up to date regarding all the birds progress that I have here belonging to them. Dave has been kept up to date regarding this matter if not by me by Vikky.

I would like to put this unfortunate sequence of events down to miss judgement on my part, this happens from time to time when dealing with animals as they can have very unpredictable and surprising natures. I can say that I have learnt from the costly mistake. I would like to state that the two aforementioned birds were cohabiting for three weeks before the squabble of which I witnessed them mutual preening a number of times. They were not just chucked into the same cage, their behaviours and displays were observed post introduction. I would not have introduced them if at any time I had seen any defence displays from either bird. Observations were made on introduction, this was very interesting because no aggression or even territorial display was noted from the original cage proprietor. A pecking order was established quickly of which the Cacatua sulphurea was the more dominant, what could this suggest?

Kindest regards
Wes

NPS: From a Sanctuary to a Zoo

We understand that in March (four months ago) there was an investigation and subsequent report conducted into the National Parrot Sanctuary by Greg Glendell, who is a retired Environmental Health Officer and a professional consultant on parrot welfare.

Based upon Mr Glendell’s credentials, any report he produces should be respected and the facts therein investigated. However, the question is… Who is there to hand the reports to, when it comes to parrot welfare?

The NPS was set up as a parrot sanctuary where people could take their pet parrots once they could, for whatever reasons, no longer cope with the responsibility of caring for them. The concept of a sanctuary is an admirable one but ‘who’ is running the operation determines whether or not it is a good sanctuary, or a place of misery and cruelty for these highly sensitive and intelligent creatures.

The report Mr Glendell has produced states, in very clear terms, that the parrots living within the NPS are being held in harsh, unsanitary and unsatisfactory conditions. On the evidence it would appear to have become nothing more than a money making venture for its current owners, at the complete detriment to birds.

Some people have nowhere else to turn when the difficult decision of having to re-home their parrots and the NPS on the surface and from their hype looks like the ideal place to rehome the family pet. They have all of the credentials from government bodies endorsing them, and have even been given Zoo status which means members of the public can be charged to view the parrots living within the zoo.

People wishing to donate their bird to the NPZ are now charged a ‘quarantine fee’ of approximately £50. For most people, £50 is a small price to pay for what you believe to be, ‘peace of mind’ over the future of your beloved bird, but after several years of trading, the £50 per bird intake fee and the Zoo charge to show the birds to a viewing public, the profits have clocked up nicely. Sadly the aviaries the birds are housed in have filled up in the process too.

Some would say. filled up way beyond capacity, to the point of what has become cruel, with aviaries now in seriously run down conditions and very questionable husbandry issues.

You will have to read the report for yourself to get a clearer picture of the conditions parrots are now living in, within the NPS.

Judging from this insight of how the zoo is run, if a family rehome their beloved pet parrot that they have lived with for many years and decide at some point that they miss their pet so much that they want him/her back or that the conditions were not as expected, you would think the NPS would allow the owners pet to go back to them.

The bird was their property until they paid £50 for it to be rehomed into the sanctuary after all. This would lower the number of birds in overcrowded aviaries, and the living plight of the poor bird in question.

Below is a copy of a heartbreaking email from someone who found themselves in exactly this position and the NPZ’s response.
…………………………
Forum: How is my tick tock doing?

hi this is going to sound so still can anyone tell me if there is any way of me geting my bird back add him from few days old he 12 year old now and missing him like hell so if anyone know a way let me know i have hateing myself for sending him away i need to have him home here with me i never been married and got no kids so he was my baby can not say anymore to cut up just puting this on here so if any one know a way pz tell me thanks

Reply: Sorry, but no.

This is the reason that we tell everyone who wants to donate a bird to the Zoo, to make sure in their own mind that they are doing the right thing BEFORE they bring their bird to us.

This is solely for the birds benefit, as it is unfair and unkind to them to send them back into a cage when they have seen what a better life they can have when flying free with other birds.

In Tick-Tiock's case he has now been out in the aviary for over 4 months now, and although you may be regretting sending him here, he has made friends with other Greys, and I'm sure he wouldn't want to go back to living in a cage on his own, do you ?

Although it must be upsetting for anyone that has to part with their bird, you said in your first post that you were sending him here because you hoped he could have a better life, and that is what we hope he is getting now.
…………………………

For NPZ not to allow the parrot to go back to its original owner you have to ask the question; why not? NPZ have given their reasons for refusing this request but with a little searching a more sinister story could emerge. Anyone involved within parrot rescue knows that for a hand reared, parent deprived and human imprinted pet bird to be back in a home environment rather than an overcrowded outdoor aviary has got to be the best option for the bird in question.

So why have the NPS blocked this?

There are reports of several birds dying after being in the zoo for a short while, with until very recently, no facilities for quarantine or sick bay. The cynics among us might say this keeps the stock down and the £50s coming in on new birds!

If Greg Glendell’s report of serious failings concerning the birds currently housed at NPZ hold up under scrutiny, then action must be taken for the sake of the welfare of those birds and strict guidelines put in place to protect them in the future.

We very much look forward to seeing Mr. Glendell’s report from March finally being put into the public domain so that the parrot community can be aware of what is happening at the NPS and warn others of the conditions there. Hopefully, action will be taken for the sake of the poor birds that are now a money-making attraction for a paying pubic on behalf of their new owner who is paid £50 each time for the privilege.

From a sanctuary into a zoo.

More threats from Alan of UKPR

Alan H - A profile

As outside observers of the online parrot shop, UKPR, and then being involved with their fostering practices, much has now been learned about them, their practices and the exploitation of the parrot community within the UK

All of the evidence gathered is on this blog for anyone to read, and is based initially on a welfare issue concerning Mylo the Military Macaw.

It all started when Mylo was rescued from these people and their 'EC merry go round' that birds are put on, until a buyer can be found for them. This was illegal in the case of Mylo & JJ in the UK because they are both CITES listed birds. Sadly, Mylo's bonded partner, who was meant to travel with him, was left behind in her previous EC's home due to UKPR's inability to transport large birds like Macaws, with one of the pair being injured in the process.

The bird rescue community all know that breeding and rescue is counter productive, and the organisers of UKPR are all bird breeders. They trade in rescue birds for profit, and place rescue birds into breeding situations.

How can anybody who knows anything about parrot rescue, or is involved in it, say that is acceptable?

They have bullied, threatened and silenced everybody for the past 2 years who has disagreed with their conduct, and all of the people who have been on the receiving end of their vitriol, are out there, ready and willing to talk to who ever wants to know the truth.

Here, once again Alan, a UKPR founder, is issuing threats, along with a few puerile names that are supposed to degrade, but do nothing but expose him for who he is.

He has been weighed, measured, and found wanting, so what is left but name calling like a silly little boy in the school playground? Nobody wanted it to go this far, but it was obviously meant to be because the story is bigger now than Mylo & JJ, they have been the ones at the centre of our action.

You have my phone number Alan, and the court papers over ownership of Mylo have not arrived in the past several months as stated they would be, which goes to show your empty threats, and bully boy tactics, just like you have resorted to here in this comment. (see below)

Imagine being a woman on the end of his bullying, and threats?

The police and DEFRA have both been fully notified over Mylo & JJ though, thanks to advice from mick-sue-fisher, because the RSPCA had refused to investigate this case in the beginning.

As a side note; Alan has been boasting about his breeding activities over the last few months on Parrot Link forum.

If people choose to breed parrots then that is their prerogative, as there are always people who want to buy cute little baby parrots so they can bring them up in this world as birds born into captivity. However, if somebody sets up a medium size breeding programme, as Alan has done, then they surely shouldn't also be rescuing them, and then placing some in a breeding programme that simply exacerbates the problem of birds needing rescue from people who cannot cope with them.

As for the accusation that Caron being "someone with dead and sick birds around her being the last person to criticize others"... In the many years of keeping parrots, the tragic decision having to be taken to have ONE rescued bird mercifully euthanised due to chronic cloacal prolapse (for which every avenue of treatment was taken), is hardly a bad track record!

Taking on rescue birds is fraught with such difficulties due to the very nature of unfortunate previous circumstance. Parrots are very sensitive creatures in all ways, that is why sometimes they can fall ill under very sad and unavoidabable situations such as Pebbles the CAG and her prolapse. One of UKPR's rescue birds that has history intertwined with this blog, died several months ago. In my opinion there are others that have 'disappeared' in questionable circumstances if you track the paper trail based on the evidence.

Furthermore, it has recently come to our attention that a UKPR rescue bird was placed in a foster home with undiagnosed Psittacosis placing both the new carer and their other birds at serious risk. It has fallen to the new carer to have the condition both diagnosed and treated. Mylo also arrived here with clear signs of respiratory disfunction that Vikky was unable to shed any light on despite having had him in UKPR care for six months! How on earth can a so-called 'rescue' organisation possibly justify blatant negligence on such a scale?!!

Charlatans the lot of them!

A response to UKPR's forum chat

Please click image to read comment:

It appears that some of those amongst the parroty community who know about Mylo & JJ, may have either forgotten about them, don't care, or are unwilling to allow any discussion over their welfare even though they profess to be bird lovers.

If Mylo & JJ could speak up for themselves what would they say?

We and others are watching very closely what is now happening to JJ, the Catalina Macaw who was seperated from her bonded partner Mylo by the charlatans at UKPR, because her health has drastically deteriorated since that time.

Only the insane, after reading all of the evidence on this blog, would support UKPR, or believe that Mylo will be going back into their grubby hands.

Is it any wonder 'Flakeyboy' has emigrated over there?

We posted yesterday how Adele smokes around both her own and rescue birds, which is contrary to what herself and others have stated about her habit on the comments section of this blog.

Are her Macaws UKPR rescue birds? If so, is not smoking in the same room as them on video, a clear breach of UKPR's own fostering rules?

We know Mylo was rescued from her smoky environment with the evidence on this blog, and JJ the fully plucked, sad, little girl is still there.

Vikky in her insanity believes for some reason that Mylo will be going back to them?

Does anyone with an ounce of intelligence really think that there is any way we are going to allow Mylo go back to them?

His rights and welfare as a living creature and protected species will be defended from everyone who wants to harm him, and that is a fact!

And do not think for one moment that the RSPCA are going to seize him either, because they are the ones who handed Mylo to UKPR in the first place, and if we have to fight them for Mylo's present and future well-being then we will do so, and put a case together against them and their failings over this case.

Mylo has his own personality, has settled into a loving, stable environment with other birds and people, and has become a part of the family. He is very happy, so is not going anywhere.

Would anyone reading this just sit back and allow one of their rescue birds to be taken from them, and go back to the likes of Adele and Vikky?

If UKPR want Mylo back because they own a piece of paper saying they own him, then serve court papers, and allow a court of law to decide on his future welfare based upon the evidence, and then we can sue your "a***s".

We have better things to do than build a case and present it to a court of law, which is why that has not been done yet, and we have left the police and DEFRA to do their job, in the hope that they will act for the sake of JJ, which sadly has not happened yet, but watch this space!

UKPR are the ones trading illegally in endangered species, and saying "I didn't know" will not hold up when you have promoted yourself as a 'Parrot Rescue' and traded in birds over the past couple of years.

These rescue birds are not commercial property to be pushed from pillar to post, and for profit when they can be. They are living creatures who are at the mercy of humans.

What a joke within the bird rescue community. A bunch of proven bird breeders masquarading as bird rescuers, and duping the RSPCA in the process!

There is a very clear cut case of animal abuse here, and it is only a matter of time until all of the evidence is gathered for a succesful prosecution. This includes all the other criminal acts that we have on file that have been handed to the police, and when push comes to shove, those people who these acts concern will either be interviewed under caution, or asked to give a statement.

If you are one of those people then you should be thinking now about what you are going to do.

There is a lot in the news about the plight of pets in Britain at the moment due to the recession, and there have been some successful prosecutions for cruelty cases reported in the media. This case concerning UKPR is a prime potential example compared to the ones that have been in the papers.

We already have the documented evidence of UKPR trading illegally in endangered species, and the police and DEFRA have both been notified, with a formal statement given concerning this case.

Bird rescue, is just that 'RESCUE' no matter what form that rescue takes, and Mylo has been rescued from a charlatan rescue called UKPR. Sadly, his partner JJ is still there, in a terribly, sorry state and we can only hope and pray that rainbow bridge is not around the corner for her as we sit on watching from afar.

Vikky and Adele apparently think that the authors of this blog need to manufacture 'followers' of our cause and create false identities to write comments and provide an illusion of support. This laughably, preposterous idea simply serves to reinforce our assertions about the cloak of self delusion these people surround themselves in.

Who's the LIAR????

Apparently Adele "doesn't smoke in the house or around the birds", according to Adele herself, and Bella as can be seen throughout the comments section of this blog.

When I stated on this blog, that Mylo arrived here with dirty feathers, stinking of cigarette smoke, which took nearly two weeks of constant sprays and showers to fade, I was branded a "LIAR" and told by Adele on the phone that "Jay smokes and that any smell on Mylo would have been from his journey to me in Jay's van."

Well, someone is certainly a liar and it isn't me!

Take a look at the video Adele posted on the UKPR forum last night to demonstrate how her two Macaws spoil her evening television viewing with their screaming... (No mention of JJ of course.)

One might wonder why the poor birds are locked away in their cage instead of being out and about, enjoying the interaction we all know these birds crave, while she is obviously sitting in the room??? But more pertinently...

If you watch the very beginning of the video carefully, you will notice a cloud of cigarette smoke rising up from the right hand side of the shot...

Anyone who keeps parrots knows how important it is to protect their sensitive respiratory systems from airborne toxins. Adele obviously chooses to ignore this crucial and basic welfare issue and force those birds to endure exposure to her disgusting smoke.

Perhaps the screams are for a bit of fresh air???

Shame on you Adele :o(

And some people wonder why we have defended Mylo from going back to these people from the very beginning? Others will not even talk about this relevant bird welfare issue concerning a so-called 'bird rescue' that is nothing more than an online buy and sell swap shop.

What has become of JJ??

Update below...

From the concerned emails and phone calls I have received, it's quite obvious that I'm not the only one who hasn't forgotten about the plight of poor JJ. However, the silence from camp UKPR has been deafening regarding how she is faring.

What are they hiding or ashamed of?

We all witnessed the sad and sorry state she was in last time she appeared on the pitiful video that was swiftly removed after peoples horrified reactions to it.

For all anyone knows she has been shipped out to who-knows-where and is not even still with Adele?

A couple of weeks ago I contacted Adele, by PM on the Parrot-Link forum, to enquire after JJ, as she has done in the past to ask about Mylo. Unfortunately, my message was met with stony silence.

Apparently, I'm not the only one whose concern has fallen on deaf ears. A member of their own forum, 'Dawnie' also posed the question on the boards and was completely ignored. I expect that none of the other members dare to step out of line and mention this, lest they incur the wrath of Vikky and get banned or ostracised from their little group.

I know for a fact, from testimonial evidence, that Macaws have long memories and that JJ and Mylo will not have forgotten one another. These two poor birds were wrenched apart after many years close companionship, through no fault or choice of their own and now have to suffer the loss of one another through senseless and selfish human pride and nothing more.

Mylo continues to have a good life here and I have nothing to hide regarding his happiness, health or welfare. Doesn't JJ deserve that same consideration?

It was perhaps even more astonishing to see a recent post made on the UKPR forum by Adele, proudly showing off her own two Blue and Gold Macaws, Armani and Indi, in their new double cage... Which just happens to be the very same cage that was donated by a well wisher for JJ and Mylo to have as their home...

No mention however, of poor JJ who, one is only to assume, has been relegated to the original tiny cage she shared with Mylo or one of Adele's old Macaw cages.

See here and here

Perhaps even more staggering was the following comment made by Adele whilst posting on the subject of her two birds in their lovely new spacious cage. Adele's comment

Well... "separate two macaws" is certainly what she did wasn't it?!!!

Do these people have no shame or compassion whatsoever???

Update

It seems that certain quarters are keeping a close eye on this blog as no sooner had I posted the above article when, as if by magic, a thread posted by Adele reporting on JJ appeared on the UKPR forum today!

Adele's report on JJ

We are certainly very pleased to hear that JJ is reported to be doing better recently. However, how tragic is it, that it was thought necessary to put her through all this trauma and unhappiness, even to the extent of medicating her, simply for the sake of human pride and reluctance to admit that a mistake had been made but would be swiftly rectified for the sake of the birds?

On a separate note... Mylo continues to thrive here and enjoy the free range, cageless life he was always accustomed to. With the warmer weather now here, he is spending plenty of time in the garden with his Macaw companions, feeling the fresh air and sun on his feathers.

Battery Hen Appeal

I know that a lot of the people reading this blog share concern for all animal welfare, not only that of the parrot-like. This appeal appeared on the Parrot-Link forum today and I thought I would repost it here for anyone interested in offering some of these poor little girls a home.

Quote...

Just had an email through that 10,000 hens need re-homing from a battery farm in Norfolk which is closing down. If anyone can offer homes then please contact Little Red Hen Rescue. Also found this link on google: Sky News

Any not rehomed by the 28th June will be slaughtered.

Adele and the abuse of JJ

For all those people who have criticised the actions of those behind this blog.

The core of this blog has always been about Mylo’s welfare, and re-uniting him with his partner JJ. As you can see from this video “Mylo & Kiki grooming”, Mylo is a very happy contented bird now, 2 weeks after his quarantine period had ended.

He is still parted from JJ though, because UKPR (Adele) refuses to allow her to be re-united with Mylo, even to the point of allowing her to completely pluck herself through the stress and trauma caused by splitting her and Mylo up.

It is known that Mylo had a respiratory condition, yet he was still allowed to go to Adele in clear breach of UKPR’s own rules, because she was a smoker. He arrived here stinking of cigarette smoke.

Adele made this comment today on the UKPR forum: Image

Talking about air fresheners and parrots.

Please read the image and what she has stated because it is amazing how blatant a liar she is.

Watch this video and see if you notice the air freshener: Video 1

This video shows that both videos were recent: Video 2

For anyone who does not know anything about parrot care and husbandry, air fresheners and their chemicals are dangerous hazards to parrots due to their sensitive and delicate respiratory system. Mylo the Military Macaw was with Adele for 6 months and when he arrived here, he was rushed to the vets due to arriving with a serious respiratory condition.

Adele is one of the core UKPR group who is charged with rescuing and protecting parrots, even ones handed to them by the RSPCA like in Mylo & JJ’s case.

If you believe there is a case of animal cruelty here, and care anything about bird welfare, it will take you 5 minutes to lodge a complaint with the RSPCA, and hopefully push them to act. Use this blog as your point of contact with the relevant facts and evidence.

All the relevant information concerning the legal aspect of this case is in the hands of DEFRA and the Police, but it seems the RSPCA refuse to act over the welfare aspect, even though they were the ones who handed Mylo & JJ into the care of Vikky (UKPR) in the beginning. When approached about this case, they said there was not a welfare case at hand, even though they were told there was.

If anyone knows of any legal experts who are bird lovers who would like to look into all the details of this case, please could you send an email.

Someone is accountable for allowing JJ the Macaw to be in the condition she is now in!

Doesn’t she have rights over her welfare, to be protected from human abuse?

The full story based upon the facts is on this blog.

Mylo's bonded partner JJ

Update below video

Here is the removed video from UKPR which shows Mylo's bonded partner JJ. It was removed by Adele, perhaps because it was pointed out to her, how sickening it was to be gloating over such a horrendous video of an obviously traumatised and unhappy JJ.

Animal cruelty comes to mind!

Mylo & JJ had been together for many years, and have now spent over 2 months apart due to UKPR malpractices. As you can see, the psychological damage and stress to this poor bird has caused her to fully pluck herself.

How can UKPR call themselves a rescue, with bird welfare at heart when they allow this type of cruelty to go on in an open forum, and not even see the error of their ways?

Mylo's welfare is not in doubt here.

Image: Adele's feeble excuse

This video was removed by Adele from the UKPR forum after she realised how serious a mistake it was to put such a harrowing video of one of two birds that have been at the centre of a very public exposure of a supposed parrot rescue that she is part of.

If Adele and UKPR are in the right over these two birds as they have professed from the very beginning of this, then there is absolutely no reason why the above video should have been removed. It was first posted on the UKPR forum in the false belief that people would see how well JJ was doing. It fooled some of the UKPR die-hards who rallied around Adele and the video, but anyone with an ounce of intelligence and compassion can see straight through the delusion and see a seriously traumatised bird.

When what has happened to JJ was pointed out on this blog, the video was swiftly removed from view. So in the interest of transparency in this now long standing case, we uploaded it to our youtube page so that people could still see the truth.

Adele has stated that she removed the video from the UKPR forum due to "copyright issues". This blog only linked to her video on UKPR when she posted it and did not infringe any copyright, so this is a blatant fallacy. Once it was removed, we then re-published it here in the interest of truth, and to show people the way this parrot "rescue" treat bird welfare.

Why should people not see this video when Adele was the one who posted it herself in the first place?

Did she realise she made a mistake, and then try and backtrack?

She can complain to Youtube but we still have the copy on file.

Mylo: A short video

He can be a little grump, sometimes, but who knows what this poor little fella has been through for the past few years. We know what has happened over the past 6 - 7 months, and that includes being separated from his long term partner JJ who is currently totally plucked and still in the hands of UKPR.

I wonder whether the RSPCA believe their is a welfare issue now concerning JJ the Macaw which they themselves placed into the care of Vikky (UKPR)?

If Mylo doesn't like something he will tell you, but he never means any malice or harm, its about mutual respect between an animal and human. He is a lovely bird with his own character, who just wants to get on with his life, preferably with his partner JJ, in a safe and stable environment which he is now living in.

These two birds have been through enough already, and the only one who is now unhappy is JJ, but she is still being used as a pawn in Vikky & Adele's game.

Look at all of the facts people and if the Police & RSPCA are still keeping abreast of developments, please take note about the state of JJ's welfare, and what, and who, has led her into her present condition.

Thinking out loud, I wonder whether anyone can be sued for sitting back and allowing this to happen to JJ, especially considering the RSPCA declined to investigate this case properly after they were made aware of it. I wonder who made that decision? That person is now the one who is now part culpable for JJ's present condition. The RSPCA are also the ones who placed these two birds into the hands of UKPR in the first place and we already know they tried selling Mylo for money without the relevant A10 certificate, which is illegal.

(As a side note: The RSPCA Officers who failed to check the story behind these two birds, failed to even pay a visit to both of the homes where these birds were staying, after being given all of the relevant information at the beginning which included police involvement, and paying for a vet's bill, are responsible for this blog post by Vikky (UKPR): Liar!!!!

If they had of done their jobs properly at the beginning and investigated these two ex-RSPCA rescue birds, there would have been at the very least, a home visit and statement taken from both parties just in case there was a welfare issue in question (which there was), and in case anything arose in the future like it now has.

They did neither, only telephoned to say this isnt an animal welfare issue which resulted in that blog post.

I wonder what they think now when looking at JJ?

Before: Happy

After: Plucked

Futher reading: Open letter to Head of the RSPCA

If there was ever a time for the authorities to act for the welfare of JJ, it is now, especially as everyone is watching their story unfold, and waiting for the right outcome for them both.

Does JJ as a bird not have rights to be protected from unscrupulous humans?

We will have to wait and see, one thing is for certain, Mylo will be protected for as long and as hard as need be, now he is happy and content in a safe, loving environment.

Adele should do the right thing and do what she was meant to at the beginning of this which is to send JJ to be with Mylo along with the cage that was donated for them both. Failing that, I would assume the authorities will wrap this case up for the sake of these birds and hold each person to account for their actions.

Mylo & JJ's present situation

Update below: Adele & Flakey boy

Photos of Mylo:
Mylo the Military

As Mylo’s case is now in the hands of the police, our intention was to say no more with regard to this situation with him and JJ, other than report on how Mylo was doing when the time was right.

Amongst other things, UKPR tried obtaining money for a bird that is categorised as an endangered species, which is highly illegal within Great Britain. Not only that, the bird was handed into their care by the RSPCA.

Thankfully for Mylo, he has the type of protection over him that he does. He is a protected species, that means people cannot abuse him without facing the full force of the law, which is why there are DEFRA laws governing his life.

Mylo arrived at Caron’s after being with Adele 6 months. Adele and Jamie (UKPR driver) had no clue as to how to handle both Mylo & JJ which can be proven, and she allowed this bonded pair who she had just spent 6 months with, to be split up en route.

Mylo arrived in a sorry state, in a small dog cage, stinking of cigarette smoke, awfully stressed after the trauma of being split from JJ, after fighting with her whilst Jamie and Adele attempted to put both birds in one small crate, and with no cage as a permanent home even after being told he would travel with at least one of Adele’s older single cages.

This was all brought out into the open on the UKPR forum, with Caron subsequently being banned and silenced from telling what had gone on, just like everyone before her who disagreed with Vikky on bird welfare.

This blog was then set up to put this side of the story across, aided by some other people concerned about bird welfare and rights, with everything written for people to read, along with facts supporting the claims.

One of the last major concerns on this blog was about Cherry, the Eclectus. How Jamie had talked of pairing her up, and then her sudden death. As this happened we were made aware of another UKPR Eclectus called Coco (a male Eclectus), that was said to have gone to Alan, Jamie’s close associate. Alan is a known parrot breeder. and after the Cherry saga, Alan now has plastered over Parrot Link that he now has a baby Eclectus. Shortly afterwards, on the same thread Alan posts that he also has African grey chicks plus other unspecified “birds on eggs”

Does this mean Alan is a professional breeder?

If Alan is a professional breeder, how many birds have gone into his care, via UKPR and how many are now in breeding situations?

We know he has a Triton Cockatoo, and a Bare eyed Cockatoo, both worth £1000 each, that came via UKPR, and we know he breeds Umbrella Cockatoos.

Might not be illegal?

Should the RSPCA be giving rescue birds to these people? One of them being Mylo an Appendix I CITES listed Military Macaw who they have tried selling for money, who is now in a loving home, mixing with other birds, just missing his partner JJ who is still in UKPR hands.

Adele along with her UKPR friends, still think, that Mylo is heading back into their criminal hands.

Legislation needs to be introduced to protect rescue birds from the likes of these people, and have the industry governed so that every bird is assured protection. Otherwise people have no laws to defend the rights of these living creatures that have ended up in their care.

Thankfully for Mylo he has those rights, so we will defend those rights, because we know we are in the right over his life.

JJ, Mylo’s partner should have arrived at Caron’s along with a Pallace cage for the both of them. Now JJ is still at Adele’s, totally plucked and on medication with the prospect of having chemical hormones pumped into her if that doesn’t work!

All this rather than send her to be with Mylo, where she was originally destined.

What changed the situation and brought all of this about?

Adele on her own admission, was rehoming these two birds because she was ill, she was scared of Mylo, and they were both living in her spare bedroom (all proven with facts).

Not much of an existence for this pair of wonderful creatures.

She then decided to re-home the pair, found what she stated was the best place for them, only for her to be now sitting with a severely plucked Macaw, who is part of a bonded pair, believing she is also going to take back into her care Mylo, and everything that has happened in between, that is listed on this blog.

Stupid people forget that facts, and believe the lies.

Here are a few of them.

Adele Video: She had Mylo & JJ for 6 months, and only now JJ is coming on leaps and bounds, watch the UKPR video on the forum for yourself: Video

Image: Leaps and bounds

Barbz: How on earth can anyone say JJ looks happy?

Image: happy

Bella: Mylo & JJ had been with Adele for 6 months and nothing, now JJ is plucked, on medication, and Bella says this. What planet is she on?

Image: What planet?

Flakey: The man who professes to be only concerned about bird welfare, is praising what has happened to this poor bird.

Image: Praise

Julie: You ask yourself is Adele is doing, or has done a great job?

Image: Great job

Adele: Last but not least, and the reason for this post.

Image: Coming home

………………………………..

Do you really think we are going to let Mylo go back into what he has just come out of?

UKPR are fighting for their property back, we are fighting to defend the rights of a sentient creature who has had his rights and welfare trampled underfoot by those charged with his care.

They broke the law over Mylo’s care not us!

All of the facts are on this blog for anyone to read.

Why would we send Mylo back into that?

Adele should send JJ to be with Mylo where she was originally destined, along with their Pallace cage, and stop playing Vikky's game for her.

Vikky and UKPR have caused this trauma for both birds and people, now they have the opportunity to do the right thing for both the birds.

Failing that, everyone is now waiting for the final outcome for these bonded birds, and if you were the authorities like the RSPCA, DEFRA and the Police; what would you do?

Look at Mylo’s partner JJ for yourself, and decide whether or not, based on the evidence, it is psychological abuse, pure cruelty… For their human motives.

After

Update:

This post along with this continuation update is in the interest of transparency regarding Mylo & JJ who were the No.1 reason for this blog being set up in the first place.

There is always two sides to a story, so if Adele and her fellow UKPR friends still want to carry on promoting their side of the story rather than allowing the relevant authorities to do their job, we will continue to point things out.

Adele phoned Caron the other day, just like she phoned her after this all blew up and stated that Vikky had lied about her wanting to foster the pair long term. Adele then went ahead and posted on the UKPR forum about this.

All the relevant information was discussed over the phone and no more was going to be said about this, that was until Adele stated: "thank you, just waiting now for when her little man comes back home to her and us"

At this point it was decided that we would have to once again put things into perspective for Adele, all of her UKPR friends, and all those other people following the story of these two birds.

Adele thinks that she is in the right over this situation and is banging her head against a brick wall here, and Flakey boy thinks we twist everything.

Image: Adele & Flakey

How ironic!!!

Everything written on this blog is supported with facts, so who are the ones twisting everything?

If they choose to carry on attempting to reclaim Mylo in any way shape or form, then we will continue pointing things out, and defending him from them.

That is just how the situation now is!

There should be laws in place governing these people, instead they are a law unto themselves.

The Ayatollah has spoken

Vikky has today issued a decree to all UKPR members (the faithful few), that they, are to no longer come onto this blog posting comments on behalf of UKPR under any circumstances. It is quite funny really because it is mainly her and Scott under Casper or Anonymous who write the lions share of the irrelevant disgraceful comments that we have seen, along with another seriously two-faced person.

"Thank God" is our response! Having witnessed their vicious vitriol for the past several weeks on here, and what has been posted on the comments section of these blogs pales in comparison when looking at what has been spewed out amongst themselves on their own forum. Every second sentence, if you take a look, is something inhumanly derogatory, and you would have to be sick to sit there reading it or being a part of it, and yes Dorrie, there has been a serious level of patience and restraint.

Hindsight on these blogs and forums can be a nasty thing for everyone!

This just goes to show the type of people we are dealing with here, and the evidence is plain to see to everyone with an IQ greater than a sprouting pea.

In their internet world, where they have created this make believe reality to cover their physical world deeds, each of the 'faithful few' who are obviously up to their necks in it, have spewed lie after lie to alter reality, and topped them off with spiteful, evil and vindictive names, which makes it quite hard for even the level minded among us to maintain a clear overview of events.

Thankfully, after scratching their heads for a moment intelligent people do see through it and realise the truth of the matter under all of this illusionary hype, which is all that counts.

Yes, this did start off with Mylo & JJ, but little did we know, once that carpet was lifted up what was going to be found underneath. We knew it wasn't going to be good, and it is not, but just how serious the implications are, are for the authorities to now investigate. We have played our part for these birds, and thankfully Mylo the beautiful, bolshie Military Macaw is a happy chappy, away from these people and just awaiting the arrival of his partner JJ who was meant to join him one week after this blog was started. The little girl sitting with Adele now, the person roped into the lies and deceit and used as cannon fodder.

Sorry Wayne and Greg but we believe after spending much time with Mylo, that this environment is the one he thrives in, and not an environment with many other birds. His welfare is all we have cared about from the start and we have defended his rights to be protected and live the best possible life throughout all of this.

You really think we would have gone through this for a 'free bird'? You seriously underestimate who we are as people to think such rubbish!

We have been the ones forced into lifting this UKPR carpet up, and unbeknown to us there were others out there too, who were just waiting for someone to start the process.

All this boils down to is animal rights, and welfare when it comes to rescue birds, and their exploitation by humans, that is all we care about and is the reason behind starting this blog in the first place. This is also the reason why some well respected people have contributed their thoughts and professional opinions on the case in hand (those not mentioned here know who you are), and that includes 'silent shout' who obviously understands what welfare and rights mean when it comes to these birds, through her own personal experience and has indeed started her own blog to the good of this cause.

Some do not like the approach we have taken, but you tell me what other way there was? Or when you criticise, think about what you have done for the sake of these birds rights and welfare, and then criticise?

We had a call from the police today after they received a complaint from Vikky regarding our blog. She told them that our blog was upsetting her, and complained about us accessing her forum. The advice given, which was quite a logical response which is exactly the same as we told Jamie when he breached his harassment warning, was: "if you don't like it... dont read it".

I think yesterday struck a nerve with them when I asked if Scott was the fat guy with the bald head biting his finger nails in this picture? image

He couldn't hold his temper and came back with another of his vile outbursts which fell flat on its face, and then today we had the call from the police.

Thankfully, if Scott and Vikky heed their own decree, along with her faithful followers, we can get back to normality and discuss the important issues and questions at hand in a mature adult fashion, rather than reading the same repetitive and abusive comments.

Mylo is still parted from JJ after all.

It is now in the hands of all of the relevant authorities, for them to do their investigation of all UKPR practices.

We feel after what we have personally witnessed and experienced, that this organisation should be investigated because they are accountable to 'no one', a law unto themselves, and they have bullied and intimidated innocent and caring bird lovers caught up in their web for long enough, and exploited rescue birds placed into their care, even ones from the RSPCA.

A bank manager committing fraud doesnt clean the accounts out, he skims what he can from the top without anyone knowing other than his accomplices - Work that one out!

If they have nothing to hide then they have nothing to worry about.

Each of you reading this who have an in depth knowledge of UKPR ask yourselves whether they need to now be worrying?

The truth always comes out in the end, and it sets you free, think about that one, those of you sitting scared now because of your mistakes!

Subtle threats

UKPR are accustomed to 'threatening and intimidating' women into silence, or to get their own way when it comes to the running of their 'cowboy outfit' bird rescue.

Below is a brief exchange between myself and Alan Hird, the Cockatoo breeder who hands rescue birds to Harry Sissens.

No disrespect to Mr Sissens, but you should choose your friends more carefully Harry, unless of course you are heavily involved with UKPR which will become evident in due course.

I am not going to write a long post here because statements from each individual in question will be taken by the relevant authorities. Alan.h and the faithful few on UKPR who must all be up to their necks in it, along with Vikky and Alan are continuing with their deranged UKPR circus show, and he has chosen to reveal HALF of our email exchange from yesterday.

I have nothing to hide so please read between the lines, which Alan.h obviously has trouble doing.

Alan.h is as thick as thieves with Jamie the UKPR driver who was the owner of what is now claimed to be a dead female Eclectus called Cherry. I have been in email contact with the original owner and have stated that a full and frank apology will be given once she has the original PM in her possession. Until then there are still unanswered questions and Cherry deserves us asking them, especially because she has become an integral part of our dealings with UKPR. We did see the poor little bird after she had been seized from her previous carer in Jamie's home after all.

Cherry was seized from a lone woman by 2 car loads of people, Jamie, Vikky's partner Scott, and several others, so we know their style!

We have also had information from people stating that there are a few Eclectus being passed around the country (for breeding, perhaps?) So this begs the question; how many more rescue birds have gone under the radar of UKPR members and are now in a breeding situation, and is Cherry really dead or paired up now with a male Eclectus as was Jamie's original plan.

It is a known fact that everyone behind this rescue are bird breeders after all so it doesnt take much imagination to work things out does it?

There are other cases of threats of violence conducted by UKPR that have also come to light in the process of writing to this blog, and there have been cases of people being intimidated into silence by UKPR calling up their places of work in an attempt to get them fired.

All of this information is on top of Jamie the UKPR driver's, actions that earned him a harrassment warning from the police.

A pack of of bullies who prey on women and people weaker than themselves, to enforce their business practices, whilst all along the birds in their care are being abused for their own selfish reasons.

You think we would sit back and send Mylo back into their clutches?? Think again people and that's why this blog has come as far as it has.

All it takes is one phone call Alan, and then you are in serious trouble. That is not a threat, it is a statement of fact.

I do not expect to be out, or not around, and thinking that you could arrive on Caron's door step trying to intimidate her, just like Jamie tried to, and your comment on UKPR's forum constitues a threat because it has left those thoughts in my mind.

So lets make things perfectly clear here!

The sooner the police shut you down and investigate you the better!

Rescue birds and innocent people should be protected from the likes of you, and coming in at this late stage, I can only imagine what type of torment you have put others through with your lies and twisting of the truth, amongst your faithful few.

You all disgust me, after watching your speil on the UKPR forum, and its amazing that people have been dragged into your world, believing the reality around yourselves that you help eachother create.

I just wonder how deep in the s**t each of the faithful few are, and that includes those two-faced people who currently have UKPR birds in their care.

.....................................................

Alan.h's subtle threat: I cant find that rob, she`s obviously embarrassed herself and has deleted it or maybe one of the PL mods has done the decent thing and removed it

throughout all this she has used the word fact countless times but failed to provide any.

the only fact she has proven is

CARON IS INDEED SICK

sorry everyone 'Blush' i just needed to get that off my chest

i have only met Caron once but i`m looking forward to the day when we meet again, as it will be the day that i collect Mylo.

Alan.h's comment on UKPR: Poor Kayley STILL hasnt received an apology and it seems they are taking things to yet another new low, they now claim that poor cherry`s PM results are forged, i suppose it was expected they would come out with more assumptions and accusations, its all there intelligence allows them to do, we place yet more documented FACTS on their laps and they close their eyes to the truth, such is their mentality (documented facts? A piece of paper with no date or name on it from a group of well known and connected bird breeders. hhmm, I wonder if she is not dead, whether what you have done is a criminal offence? Kayley and her family will recieve a full apology when she has the original PM)

i also had a Private message from paul on another forum, in response to my comment on here which was i am really really looking forward to the day when i can collect mylo and reunite him and jj

apparently Paul is taking this as a threat but read the last line of his pm and then decide for yourself which one the threat is, i have also sent copies to the relevant people, and if i continue to receive them i will make them public on here

Alan,

I have read several of your comments recently and I do not appreciate your subtle threats aimed at Caron about you turning up at her house, as you seek to make yourself look like a 'big man' amongst your little group by attempting to intimidate a woman.

I can assure you, that you will not be setting foot on Carons property as you keep stating, just like i assured Jamie he would not be taking Mylo when he started issuing threats.

If you cross the line one more time you will face the consequences of your actions.

Paul

my reply

i dont use threats Paul but it appears you do

thanks for that

Alan twisting the truth to sound like he is smelling of roses.

Statement 1. i have only met Caron once but i`m looking forward to the day when we meet again, as it will be the day that i collect Mylo.

Statement 2. i am really really looking forward to the day when i can collect mylo and reunite him and jj

Notice the difference in context?

Look at the people we are dealing with here, and these are the people who have set themselves up as a bird rescue and are having needy birds placed into their care, even ones from the RSPCA.

June - Parrotcare

Comment taken from comments section

Website: Parrotcare

I have read though the UKPR watch blog and even commented twice, As a parrot rescue of many years standing I feel that the UKPR will be held up as "what not to do" in running a rescue organisation be it birds, cats dogs etc.

While the UKPR may have started out with the idea to rescue birds it soon became clear that the people who founded it did not have the people skills or the amount of knowledge needed to ensure the smooth running of a rescue,

People skills are very important as it is the members and general public that are needed to make a rescue work, banning members right left and centre instead of answering their misgivings will soon paint a picture of "having something to hide" whether true or not, it will make other members weary of voicing their own misgivings, taking and removing birds from homes that were meant to have been completely home checked before fostering birds to them, points to shoddy home checking or to a "do as I say or lose your birds attitude",

It is always better to take a long time getting the right home for the bird and fosterer rather than feel later that you have made a mistake.

Taking a bird from the home it has been placed in and moving it to another will cause the bird untold stress and if it has an under lying health problem (although it should ALWAYS to vet checked before going to a foster home and NO ill bird should be placed without veterinary care first) to surface and can even mean the death of the bird.

If at any time it is felt that the foster might be having problems then working with the foster to help improve the situation is always the first step to take.

Not only may they be glad of your help but you will go along way down the road to being a more caring "rescue" for both birds and people.

The most important part of a parrot rescue is understanding and knowledge of birds and this understanding and knowledge MUST lie with the people running the rescue, the people who will make the finale dissuasion on the birds welfare.

Sadly this knowledge was shown to be lacking in the Milo and JJ case, No one who understands parrots (especially Macaws) would separate a pair even for a day let alone the intended week.

First if the two birds were fighting then it is the carers job to find out why,

If it is down to stress then the stress MUST be removed (stress can kill birds) moving birds that are showing signs of stress is wrong and the two birds should have been settled back into their cage/cages the injuries seen too, given a good feed and sorted out before any move was planned,

This would give the carer (who had looked after the birds for 6 months) and thereby should know them well the time to plan their future travel arrangements better and would allow the birds to get over the stress/problems they were experiencing.

If someone takes on the job of moving birds then it is their job to know enough about birds to recognise any problems that might arise with the birds travelling and to ensure that they travel in the safest way (in this case that would mean each bird having a crate of its own with feed and water pots.)

If the new foster/carer is told there is a cage/cages coming with the birds then this MUST happen, other wise the birds could reach their new home and have no where in which to live, and everyone must agree that this would be unforgivable.

At the end of the day all the birds from a budgie to a macaw must receive the very best of care at all times.

The owner of Milo and JJ requested that these two birds stay together, they had spend years together and whether bonded or paired these birds were living together, it really doesn't matter about the arguments surrounding these birds, the birds do not know or care about them, While Milo seems to have settled into home life away from JJ happily it could be that JJ has not and this could have a long term affect on JJ.

So maybe it is time to really think about theses birds future and to bring them together so that they may get on with being a happy PAIR of birds.

How this can be done I do not know but the fact is it must be done and done as quickly as possible.

Cherry the Eclectus – Gone to Rainbow bridge

Update: Postscript below post

Is this a coincidence?
All followers of this blog will have been greeted with a picture of a female Eclectus each time you arrived here because as the saga unfolded that led to this blog being started, it was brought to our attention that there was a female Ekkie called Cherry who had been seized in similar circumstances to the attempted seizure of Mylo.

UKPR have their side of the story to Cherry’s seizure along with photographic ‘evidence’ for their reasons behind it, which we have seen. This as far as we are concerned based upon all of the factors involved concerning the seizure and where the birds went is fatally flawed and proves the disgusting attitude of UKPR, and their abuse of birds and people.

Is this poor bird really dead or has it been hidden now UKPR know the police are involved? (Read the evidence below and judge that for yourself)

Jamie the UKPR driver/’heavy’ was one of the group of people who seized Cherry from where she was living, and then became her proud new owner.

We met Cherry in situ at Jamie’s home, and then, when the situation with Mylo unfolded we were then ‘coincidentally’ given all of the background information about her seizure without anyone knowing we had just seen her with our own eyes.

During our introduction to Cherry at Jamie's home, no mention was made of any illness whatsover and beyond the obvious plucking she appeared in decent health. In fact, as already stated, Jamie was enthusiastic about his plans to introduce a partner for her.

Her story is another story to share that has been central to our exposure of UKPR practices and is the reason why a picture of a female Eclectus has been up since the beginning. UKPR have intimidated her previous carer into silence with the photos mentioned, ones that can be explained away.

How many bird keepers do not at some point have dirty cages and bowls?

We have offered to tell Cherry’s previous carer’s story but it has been declined so I will not go into it now.

It just seems very coincidental that now that the police are involved… Cherry is “dead”.

How long after her death was her initial owner who had her micro-chipped, notified of this sudden turn of events?... Four days??? Think about it, why four days???

Are there any independent parties who have seen her body?

Have UKPR organised a post mortem examination? Image - Alan (no answer on forum as yet)

Why, as a UKPR rescue bird, if she was sick from plucking did UKPR not pay for her to see a vet? Would that not be an appropriate use of those ‘donations’?

Has anyone heard of a bird dying from plucking alone?

All very strange!!!

Cherry is dead.

UKPR Watch: The police are now involved

Make your own mind up based upon the evidence, and when you do remember Jamie was warned about the police at the beginning, and now they are involved Cherry has gone. Gone where is the question; rainbow bridge or into hiding until this all blows over?

There are many more stories of shady dealings at the expense of innocent rescue birds and caring bird lovers.

It seems some people just do not want to believe the truth that is staring everybody in the face.

UKPR bringing the parrot rescue community into disrepute.

.........................

Update: Postscript

We as bird lovers, are all acutely aware that the sad death of a much loved pet is a very emotive subject. For those reading this blog who do not wish to confront this upsetting but none the less, very real issue then we can only say “please feel free to click the little red cross at the top right hand corner”.

For those who are still reading… I would ask that whilst judging whether it is right or wrong to discuss this subject, please remember that the key purpose of these articles and the comments are to raise the questions that before now have been silenced on the UKPR forum by banning orders and deletion of posts.

Within a very short time of posting the ‘Cherry’ article, we have been challenged with the outraged “how dare you” and “how insensitive” comments from Team UKPR. This was totally expected and absolutely true to form… Vikky and her UKPR cronies like to play heavily on the emotions of genuine people who have true care and concern for their feathered charges rather than viewing them as a ‘nice little earner’.

Up until now, the order of the day has been “Shhh, don’t talk about it”. Or perhaps, in Jamie’s very own words on the night we visited his home and he noted the monetary value of my green singing finch in comparison to a ‘mere’ canary… “keep quiet about it”.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t work like that here.

Questions WILL be asked and whether the answers are forthcoming or not will be evident for anyone watching.

If there is nothing to hide then why not answer the questions in an open and honest way as June Edwards of Parrotcare has on each and every occasion she has been publicly ‘interrogated’ by alan.h on the parrot-link forum.

Perhaps as a final thought… I would just like to borrow silent-shout’s previous analogy of turning the tables and ask people to ponder the following scenario.

Just imagine for a moment if I had posted an announcement on this blog stating that (and God forbid) Mylo the Military Macaw had very sadly flown to Rainbow Bridge four days ago…

What questions might have been very rightly posed and answers demanded then???

If our worst suspicions regarding the Cherry situation are wrong then we shall be more than prepared to write an open and sincere apology. I think the majority of people following this blog would agree that under the circumstances the questions posed are extremely valid.
